I have always found your videos where you talk about the personal and professional challenges you are facing at the moment the most insightful. 🍀 this is honestly one of the most entertaining videos I have watched lately. It’s curious that you believe it doesn’t bring any clear value. I can watch “top 10 productivity hacks” anywhere, however having a view into the struggles you have when building a business and how you are dealing with them is not something that can be easily found anywhere else. Getting to see which books you are reading to tackle those issues is also a great insight!

I first stumbled on your channel cos of your iPad reviews, and yours was by far the best, most informative and helped me make my mind up about which one to buy, the fact that you were a doctor wasn’t important (but did make your views appear more legit for some reason 😆 we are so fickle!!) I also appreciated your Pakistani heritage again a superficial judgment (but we like being able to relate to someone cos of a shared background) and the rest was history, so doctor or not keep doing you, the value you’ve added to our lives is immeasurable, wishing for your success… May the Lord grant us guidance and the happiness we seek 🙏

This video is full of value and insight for those of us trying to grow. It’s a direct reality check for our dreams before we get there. I feel that perhaps as you’ve grown you’ve become less relatable to your audience (which is inevitable) so if you did more videos like this now and again, where we see your vulnerability that may restore the connection, as long as it comes from an authentic place. 🍀

Recently started watching your channel. In the midst of working in this pandemic I am finding that more people are depending on others to make their day. Friends, family, coworkers, and customers are running at an all time low. We have been deprived attention, communication, and much more that our pre-pandemic lives provided to us. Mental health is everything and I think you are carrying the stress of other's in your lap, especially with your team expanding. It is natural to feel empathetic in these situations, but it is best if you learn to control those empathetic thoughts and know when to shut down for your own sanity. I've watched a lot of videos of yours over the course of two-days. The happiness that alludes off of you is infectious most when you are creating content on educational topics, you can tell you are coming from a genuine place. As far as career changes.. I personally left my mechanical engineering degree to pursue a greater fulfillment. I think that new doors open and sometimes old identities become fun facts to new friends and great bragging rights for old friends. Do not fear your future. There will always be content to teach. You are an adaptable person! *Clover emoji*? I couldnt sleep and wanted to watch this video to see into your perspective more.

I constantly have to talk my way back to reality and go through the worse case scenario "If I don't get anymore work and my business fails what will I do" at the end of the day if I lose everything I know I have the skills and ability to start from zero. I'm on the fence about making content. I hate being on camera, but at the same time I know that I would value someone like me documenting the journey that I'm currently on. 🍀 One anecdote on why living your best life TODAY is important- My grandma's only dream in life was to visit the Taj Mahal (She lived in Delhi i.e. 3 hours drive from the place). She never went because earlier there were kids to bring up, money to save, marriages to arrange, then grandkids came along and life stayed busy. When she finally had the time and money, she no longer had the health. She passed away last year never having seen the Taj. So I'll just say- Go see your Taj (whatever that is for you). Don't wait for the right time, enough money etc etc. 😊🍀

I just published my 130th consecutive podcast this week while keeping up with my KZitem channel and writing a book and I can say from experience that it’s *a lot* of work. Batching and delegating podcast tasks is *key* (especially when it comes to interviews). I can send you by guest booking workflow if that helps, Ali. Fortunately, KZitem Creator Academy says that there’s no statistical impact from KZitemrs taking a few weeks off here and there. No long-term impact on views. So that’s promising!

Re: 18:49 How to figure out what to do with your life, one exercise I love and use frequently is the 7 Layers Deep “Why” Exercise. I’m not sure who originally invented it but there are a few variations of it on the web. You can use it to figure out your “end game” motivation behind anything from your career to hobbies. That can also help you figure out what to teach. Regarding passion, I would also recommend to refresh a bit some of Cal Newport’s stuff on passion v profession in So Good They Can’t Ignore You. The one area you need to think about is how to expand to additional on screen talent. Your entire business appears to depend on you being on screen - I know you enjoy it, but producing content with only you limits long term growth. Look at channels like Linus Tech Tips where they have 5 or 6 additional on-screen personalities that have their specialties and fans.

🍀 Great video Ali, thank you. It was particularly interesting for me because my life has completely changed this week as I took the plunge to move to Australia with my family and I'm going totally freelance after 15 years of "corporate" life 🤯 I've taken a lot of value from it, especially in terms of your thoughts on employees, medium & long term goals, doing it for the right reasons etc, it's given me food for thought and its inspired me no end so thank you again. Oh and awesome looking workspace! 👌

It's really inspiring to see how much you've grown and achieved. My advise - yes- metrics are important and job definition and description is important but make sure not to go too corporate. Too much corporate takes sucks the soul out of people and you don't want that, especially in an environment that relies so much on creativity.

I'm one of your recent followers. I appreciate your "ramblings" because as you said in one of your other videos it's interesting to see the process and 'behind the scenes'. Even though the questions/struggles you have are different from mine, I can still relate to you on a broader scale - the quest to find the balance of work and life, etc, and your thought process help me to review my process for my questions, or give me an entirely different way of thinking about either the question / the process of finding the answers. And for someone like me who lives by herself, there's time and need for videos like this where it's not cognitively heavy that it needs my full attention but I can half watch it while cleaning or doing dishes and focus for a bit when you mention something particularly resonating / interesting. I'll be interested to see your answer through the developments w ur business. Wait. Is that a flush I just heard? 😜🍀

I agree with Lewis on that note, yes being a med student gave you the edge for study habits vids which propelled your channel, but all the other stuff has nothing to do with medicine. I'm personally fascinated at how your mind works/ how you do life. For me, your best content this year was like right at the beginning of the year, second brain stuff, you book club insights are really refreshing. It would be interesting to see you use your meta learning skills to like absolutely dominate another career/unrelated field.

Being a Doctor and having the youtuber as a side hustle made you more authentic than other studying/ productivity channels beacuse you had skin in the game. Like you were making videos about topics that you were experiencing and I felt that you had no reason to put out bullshit beacuse KZitem wasn't even your full time thing. But, I appreciate that now your a brand with 19 employees (congrats btw) that you will have to make decisions on creating and distributing content (like paid courses) that you wouldn't have needed to worry about when it was just you on your own with a camera.
