The "extra" oval o-ring looks like it's supposed to go under the front cover of the pilot pump. You can see the groove and the corresponding mark where it sits.

Funny story: We decided to raise chickens and had a dog that loved to play fetch. We let the chicks free range. My dad was working on the car one day, and the dog wanted to play fetch. She would drop her ball at his feet, and he would mindlessly pick it up and wing it for her. Well, a chick roamed into the area as the dog dropped her ball. My dad reached down and picked up the chick and threw it, and after he released the throw, he realized it wasn't the ball. 😂 The dog ran after the chick and very gently caught it mid-air before it could hit the ground, carrying it back and placing it before my dad. Unharmed. He never threw the ball without looking at it after that.

I've worked along side a lot of "pros" who did things like fill a brand new Gardner Denver screw compressor with oil using an improvised funnel from a scrap of cardboard that was lying on the floor. Or use the hydraulic oil drum pump to pump out a caustic soda tank and then put it right back in the hydraulic oil drum. Be glad you're an amateur.

Noticed the bright red squirt can, 👍! Makes sense with the price of brake cleaner, and you know beforehand when you are getting low. Everything seems to take longer when you aren’t working at a full time shop, I’m a past tense professional and working at home and don’t have specialized tools for seemingly small simple projects everything seems like it takes four times longer than when I was punching the clock. But now I’m allergic to clocks😂. Great to see the progress on a very complicated series 😊.

"It's not that complicated, you just need to spend a lot of time with it" My man, that was over 50 pieces (I'm not counting) mounted in easily over a 150 steps (really not counting), with several torque and quality checks (seriously, I refuse to count) that you disassembled, cleaned, resurfaced, rematched, replaced and reassembled. Seriously, I love the humility, but that's the DEFINITION of complicated.
