Maxime Taccardi is one of my favorite artists of all the time. His projects and arts are uniquely terrific as if it's once in a lifetime. I discovered KFR through Bandcamp, but album covers caught my eyes. It helped me to understand my paradoxical hatred for my passion which used to be drawings and painting. I think I was forced to reinforce my passion in more restricted way. Something I didn't want to do. Maxime has inspired me to refine my passion and motivated me to return to drawing after many years. He's truly a free-spirit guy, and it shows in his musical projects which may be creepy and dark but extremely artistic with a remarkable sense of individuality.

KFR is abbreviated for "Kafir", an Arabic and Islamic term (which you can see in stylized text of the word/ band name on various artwork and album covers) which, in the Islamic tradition, refers to a person who disbelieves in God as per Islam, or denies his authority, or rejects the tenets of Islam. The term is often translated as "infidel", "pagan", "rejector", "denier", "disbeliever", "unbeliever", "nonbeliever", and "non-Muslim". He uses bones (likely pilfered from the French Catacombs) for drumsticks, creates quite the tone on the drums in tandem with the production/ recording and mastering style. Maxime is one hell of an awesome artist with a very interesting style, if one can find his art books they're quite dark and esoteric.

Im not convinced the bones aren't just "lore," I don't doubt he's recorded some hits with bone, but I just don't see him doing blasts with bones. Lol. Could be wrong, idk?

@@terridactyl5152 No, he actually uses bones (Humerus/ upper arm bones from what I recall last time it was talked about), He also has several real Skulls and other human bones that are frequently seen in his Music Videos. They're rather easy to get from the Catacombs in France.

He's so god damn unique, not just in black metal but in his art, yes, other artists paint with blood, but it's what he paints, you can just tell when it is him.

Love that you made a video on him, he's such a talented artist and kind human being. After being a fan of his for many years it's been really awesome developing a friendship with him, he's always been supportive of my art as well and I actually only discovered KFR because he sent me some links for it. Definitely dark and experimental as fuck. Hope we get to meet in person someday.

I fucking love Maxime so much, his books are incredible. I'm constantly looking to see if he's working on a new one, always try to be in the first wave of his releases. The blood paintings are gorgeous, he's always very polite and nice, too. Killer music, absolutely amazing aesthetic, I just love this guy. Do yourselves a favor and buy his books if you haven't already and check out his channel.

Only last week I was watching a video on Maxime's most valuable black metal vinyl. I've already bought one of his hardback books. Some of his art reminded me of Justin Bartlett who does Dragged Into Sunlight"s artwork. Awesome dark s**t!!!!!!!

I discovered his work on Heavy Music Artwork and at the time I didn't know he made music until of course I looked more into his profile and stuff, The album that had me hooked was Nihilist, definitely a favorite of mine as L'enfer a Sa Source, Shaitan 2.0 and Pure Evil, I can't wait for Pain/Ter to come out and the track "the serpent's kiss will come at the end of January so I look forward to all of that!

One time I stumbled across K.F.R., and hated it within seconds of hearing it. I briefly shit-talked it online, but funnily enough Mr. Taccardi saw it and contacted me. He seems like a really cool guy and although I personally don't like any of his music, I love his paintings and have a deep respect for him as an artist.

Absurd came out with a new album. I don’t understand the drama between Hendrik and Ronald, Ronald says Hendrik has not been involved with Absurd since the 90’s, but it was Hendrik that released the new album(Schwarze Bande). Can you explain this better to us, and give your opinion on the new album?

As I noticed in his paintings, painting with blood is close to painting with watercolours but with more density. A question i have : how did maxi bring all this amount of blood to draw a big number of paintings
