What do you think about the food scene in Calgary? Apologies for not posting in a month - been quite busy.

Thumbs up for the Calgary food scene. I hope you'll get to review Vancouver's food scene one day. I have great memories of the restaurants there. They were all outstanding.

D.O.P., Modern Steak, Native Tongues, Calcutta Cricket Club, Bridgette and LuLu are among many other solid places to check out; just depends what kind of cuisine you're looking for

Thanks for the recommendations! I've tried Native Tongues - very good. I'll have to try the others as well.

Bruh, Bussin’ is trash. You needed to try a new spot called Class Clown burger instead. Even Clive Burger across the street tops Bussin’. Try OEB for breakfast next time and Korilla for Korean BBQ. Great choice on the Ramen though.

Having lived in Toronto before moving to Calgary a few years ago, I find Calgary to be quite decent, though it doesn't quite compare to Toronto. Toronto might boast a choice of 500 ramen spots, whereas Calgary offers about 10. The selection is nearly complete, albeit noticeably smaller. This applies to bars and virtually anything else you can think of. However, since moving to Calgary post-children, our lifestyle has shifted away from frequenting bars and restaurants to mostly cooking at home. Thus, I'm happy to exchange the lower cost and larger size of homes in Calgary for a reduced variety of ramen shops. lol

I've noticed the same - Calgary pretty much has everything in Toronto (Food wise), minus the number of options & the "TOP" tier places

As a Calgary local, I’d say that the cultural variety of food is higher/better in the GTA, but the best food is at least as far as midtown/uptown. The distance you’d had to travel to eat well is so much further especially if you live in DT Toronto. The hill I’ll die on is that the Vietnamese food in Calgary is the best in Canada. There are certainly some specialty spots in Vancouver that I’d say are good if not better, but it’s there are just so many places to get great Viet food. As a food city overall, gotta say that I prefer Vancouver or even Montreal over Toronto and Calgary.

@@FrankHuynh the pho sate from Basil or Pho Dau Bo are probably the top spots. Banh mi from Soc Trang. Bun Bo Hue from Hue Thuong. Viet jello/desserts from Che Bong.

Dang, those spots look pretty solid. Despite being a hater of Toronto, I actually really enjoy the food and the quality of service, relative to the other places I’ve lived, and where I currently live. Toronto people are fast, competent, and the food is usually solid and fresh-hot. I can’t say I’ve ever been disappointed-even doing fast food. The competition, albeit stiff, does a lot for the food game over there. Even more selections at your stores and restaurants than other places. Edit: The fruit is also amazing in Toronto. It’s always way fresher than other cities.
