Courtland Center in Burton, Michigan opened in 1968 as Eastland Mall, just outside of Flint. Originally featuring a 1,000-seat movie theater and 47 stores with 3 anchors like Woolco, the mall was renamed Courtland Center in 1986. During its peak in the 1990s, Courtland Center housed 80 different shops. Today, the nearly vacant mall has no theater and only a handful of stores left. One bright spot is the classic car museum run by the Sloan Museum, which specializes in the local Flint automobile history.
