A really good tip for laying contact paper is to spray some soapy water before you put down the sticky paper because while it’s wet you can move it and slide it wherever you need it to go and then you just take a ruler or paint scraper or really anything with a hard flat edge and slide it like you would normally over the top and it’ll squeeze the water out from underneath it and then you just need to wait for the water to dry completely underneath and it should turn out pretty close to perfect…I learned the hard way trust me I Feel your frustration

I just started watching some of your videos today. I'm not a parent and something I noticed is that your kitchen and pantry are not overrun with "kid specific" stuff. If I didn't know you have 5 kids I wouldn't know from seeing what's in your pantry. And that's meant as a compliment. Again, as a non parent, watching people with kids it's overwhelming to see how much STUFF is seemingly needed for them. But you're obviously proving, kids can eat from regular dishes and don't need 25 special cups. LOL I think that's cool!

Thanks for sharing this. Baskets in pantry spaces are a godsend. Just a suggestion. You could paint the back of the door in blackboard paint, so you can quickly write things down, as you find supplies running low. It would also diminish the yellowing of the paint. Cheers.

I totally think you should do a cooking episode. Make it really interesting and try to find something delicious in the 1940s. I say this because the war was going on so the people had all types of rationing, and I think it will be fun to learn all the facts through something fun a.k.a. cooking.

My wife and I would love a cooking series! Actually I also collect cookbooks and rediscovered a small pamphlet cookbook from 1961 that I would like to send you. It's called "'year 'round meat recipes" published by the National Live Stock and Meat Board. It's in very good condition and seems quite 50s influenced. Would you like it and do you have a PO box? If you ended up featuring a recipe in it I would probably cry with happiness 🥲

@@JustMe-pi1se I feel like theme would allow for coordination without being too restrictive, like I think a few years back there were people making a Christmas or thanksgiving recipe or a cookie Collab. For your cooking series... I would suggest A WHOLE MONTH per era 1920's,30's,40's,50's,60's,70's, and I say MONTH because that way you can tailor it and get lots of days say 10 days out of the whole month of footage and this way doing it because it would be doable and stress free and you would release ONE video per month called 10 days of cooking 1940's meals. Or you could even slim it down to 7 days (but personally and I think I am speaking for a ton of your viewers) 7 days of meals is just not enough! 7 meals is not enough ideas or inspiration nor does it show us a good glimpse of what ladies cooked in that era! 7 is just not enough. 10- 2 weeks would be "okay". you could even do a whole month 4 weeks of meals from each era! Dont forget to include snapshots of every meal you do! I am sure we would love to see the actual recipe!

I suspect "the red & white pantry" will be prominent in your children's memories when they are adults. "My Mom's house was/is so CUTE!" (Not sure of the verb tense there because you might in a few decades decide to retire to Florida and let people wait on you. ; ) This will also be prime hide-and-seek space.

I needed to see this and your message of I want it to look cute even if it's just for me. I've been so discouraged lately. I just stopped caring. No one comes over and I feel like my family for the most part does not notice what I do. Only what I don't do. But you're right. I clean and make my home and yard pretty because I love it. And that is just as important as what others think.

OF COURSE you should make things cute for yourself! I re-did my entire apartment by myself even though I never invite anyone in because I prefer to be by myself Idk, if you need it, but to give a bit more functionality to the wall where the fridge door closes, you could hang a chalkboard for a grocery list. I always find it easier when I keep writing things down as I run out of them, as opposed to making a grocery list before going to the store as this way I always forget something.
