Cost of living is around 5k - 7k per month, but question is how many families in Singapore can earn that much sum of salary? Everything increased but not salary, foreigners are earning more than the local, the Gov fix a min. sum of salary for all the work passes such as S Pass and EP but how about local? Many local are still taking less than 2k salary.

Ridiculous landlord and just pure greed but just enjoy high rental until 2026 when JB MRT start, all malaysian will move back to JB and rental rate slump in SG.
KL Condo at Taman Desa, RM1800 (2 bed rooms) with car park, Cyberjaya area condo RM1,400 (2 bed rooms), studio RM1,000, RM2,500 (3 bed rooms) condo with pool, welcome MNCs to KL!

Cost of living is on rise in all countries, Singapore made no exceptional. Expats are drawing much attractive wages than in their country, that is the reason they work in Singapore. Everything there will be a pro and cons, you make your own choice to take your path.

Landlord upon confirming the rentals they should sign a contract of at least 2 years and should not increased during the 2 years stay! Upon renewal of contact the landlord has the right to increase after the contract and not in-between the contract

The HDB should control the rental rates charged by HDB owners. Perhaps HDB can provide a monthly rental rates based on 1 common bedroom without Aircond, 1 common bedroom with aircond, 1 master bedroom & en-suite bathroom without aircon, 1 master bedroom & en-suite bathroom with aircon, whole unit etc. And if the unit owner charged beyond the regulated rates, they will have to pay additional monthly income tax at 30% of the monthly rental rate must be paid to IRAS.

@@zhen86 They also charge higher rent in JB to fellow malaysians. 3x fx rate and cheap landed properties and pro citizen housing grants for those malaysians and pr, what is there to complain when you guys can retire comfortably next time in malaysia. few properties there and a hdb here.

True is a burden to those average income who work Singapore 🇸🇬 as a tenant need to understand not to increase too much just we are lucky need not come here & earn a living
