When you mentioned drifting, this is more accurately described as "Slip angle" and theres a lot of useful information about it!
@XpVersusVista
2 жыл бұрын
nope, he's talking about actual drifting here. Codemasters even changed how brake bias works because it was unrealistic what was happening in the game (people intentionally oversteering into corners). In reality that behavior would completely ruin the wheels, but F1 2021's wheel simulation isn't detailed enough to account for that. They changed it not too long ago to the point where brake bias should always be set to 50% (like in F1 2020), because they found it to be the better solution to not have rear lockups over people drifting at 15-20° angles (optimal slip angle is around 6-10°).

I don't see why you'd disable the assists if you drive faster with them on. At one point ABS was banned from F1 because of the huge advantage it gave the team that used it first.

@CakeOfDoom I've played for about 6 hours of the game and not gonna lie, using medium traction control was weird at first but good when I was getting used to it. No traction control would probably completely overwhelm a new player like me, right?

@@Lennard2121 Well for me it only took about 1-2 days too get used to No TC, but that was F1 2020, F1 2021 seems more oversteered at most times, so I would assume it would take longer, but practice makes perfect I guess.

Thanks @TraxionGG. So for the ON-throttle differential you suggest 70-95% (locked) for low-speed corners, requiring less trail-braking, while you recommend 55%-65%. (open) for high-speed corners. But we'll still be going faster in high-speed corners with a locked differential right? But at a risk to spin correct? Another thing, with these parameters set, do you change anything in the OFF-throttle differential or do you just leave them at 75%? Many thanks for your time

@christiangarcia2253

@XpVersusVista
2 жыл бұрын
@@christiangarcia2253 no. He is talking about on-throttle diff. Let me explain: on a slow corner, you need a lot of rotation, BUT you're not on the throttle (so OFF-Throttle) during the rotation. After the rotation (Apex) you're very slow, but usually already pointed towards a long straight. So your best lap time comes from fast acceleration. The higher the diff the more even is the rotation = more traction = more acceleration. It's easier to explain why an open/lower diff is bad: a lower diff gives more engine/rotation power to the wheel with less resistance. Less resistance means less power transfer and less acceleration. On a fast corner however you want to give both throttle (so ON-Throttle) and turn the car at the same time (Monza Parabolica for example). The better your car turns the more throttle you can give in a fast corner, the faster you are. So you open the diff to allow the outside (less resistance) tire to rotate faster, helping you turn.

You kinda got that the wrong way around in the beginning by saying you don't use trail braking in tight corners and you do use it in fast corners. That is the wrong way around. You don't go stamping on the brake when entering medium to fast corners but you do into hairpins, for example.
@samuelvanlane

Trail braking is not stamping on the break and in high and medium speed corner trail braking will make all the difference itl give you fronts end traction to carry more speed with a more stable exit.

what do you mean either too slow or too fast? you have 110 steps to make the AI faster or slower. AI too slow? Add AI strength. Too fast? Lower the strength a bit. Do it until you dialed it in to where you want/need it.

@@XpVersusVista main issue is Hamilton/Verstappen are ridiculously fast compared to the other drivers. So either you breeze past the pack and compete with them, or you get completely destroyed by them and compete in the pack. I also personally notice I can easily keep up with the AI on the newer tracks (Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Russia, Mexico, France) but lose out in Monaco, Hungary and Singapore.
