fun fact - the winner of this race, Daniel Suarez, is actually kind of like an unofficial brother-in-law to Max Verstappen. Daniel is engaged to Julia Piquet, who is the sister of Kelly Piquet - so if Max and Kelly ever end up getting married, Daniel and Max would technically become legal relatives of each other 🤣

I've been going to AMS since 2012 when I was a child. After the reconfiguration the racing got SO MUCH MORE EXCITING!!! I was of course at the 2024 race and that was hands down the greatest race I've been too! So glad I get to race legends cars on the front stretch there

You're very lucky to review this race because being where it was in person, I can tell you, it was one of if not the greatest race in the 2020's so far and probably a top 5-10 race from the last decade, and I've been a fan for about 15 years now. THIS was a certified classic.

Fully agree, even though I wasn’t at the race. I’ve been watching since 2011 (can’t remember everything though since I was young at the time) definitely top 10 worthy though

Atlanta is a 1.5 mile racetrack and they do a superspeedway package on it so that is why they have pack style racing at Atlanta

If you’re looking at Atlanta races, one of my favorite races is the 2005 Golden Corral 500. Hell of a finish to that race as well.

I was at this race and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. I sat at the exit of turn 4 for the first stage with some family friends and went to the area I paid for after. I ended up watching the rest of the race from the front row, the very last seat before turn 1.

4:47 that wasn’t a bump n run that was a case of one car going up the track and one car going down on the track.

Allow me to be one of the first to welcome you to NASCAR Suzi! What a finish between Suarez, Busch, and Blaney! The final margin of victory: 0.003 seconds, making it the third-closest finish in NASCAR history!

Even crazier, the margin from 1st to 3rd was .007, which would be tied for the 7th closest finish in NASCAR history

I was there for this race. It was the best race I have ever been to, and I've been going to Atlanta for quite a while. Not just the finish, but the entire race. In the stands the atmosphere was incredible. It usually is at a NASCAR race, but this race felt different. So happy to have been there to witness history. 😌

On superspeedways when they are all so close like that you really don't keep track of what position they're in you keep track of what position they are in in the line Like 3rd in line on the outside or 5 in line on the inside because it changes constantly

Here's how they keep track if I remember correctly. They have a tracker like thing in the car and there are sections on the track that scan those trackers and it'll display the position. I could be wrong though.

1:25 girl. i have been into the sport for over a decade now. and i don't know everyone on the grid off rip. especially by just the cars and numbers. don't worry about that just yet. definitely all the names are familiar to me. but i don't know all their numbers and because they run different paint schemes almost every weekend, i don't recognize the cars all the time either. just look out for drivers that catch your attention either by the name or skill or car or look or whatever and get to know them from there. it's easier that way. although it's also east to get to know them by watching the full races. the races are long enough for you to "know" some of the drivers. especially when the commentators can go on tangents on the life stories of some of them in the middle of a race
