I nearly fell out of my chair you said Kenny the master Draculis! I look forward to hearing Kenny's come back! I'm sure he won't let that go without any return remarks. 🤣🤣🤣 As for the rest of the video, I know quality work is mandatory if you want to stay in business. With NO intention of hurting anyone, I see the clamps as necessary as someone wearing a belt AND suspenders ... at the same time .If you are more comfortable with the clamps, by all means, use them. If glue and pin nails work for you use that method. There is no need for war. Just be happy to be able to CREATE such beautiful crafts and make a living doing something you love that brings a lot of joy to yourself and others.

Hi Belinda! I used to use clamps but then found it an unnecessary step, or overkill as you eluded to. So I agree on your analagy of the belt and suspenders :) . I hope I didn't come across as being snarky, as that certainly wasn't my intention. Thanks for your comment, Belinda and thank you for the kind words!

@@kcdcdesigns No Keith, you were NOT snarky in my opinion. Funny as heck with that comment (which I think Kenny & Rhonda will get a giggle from) but, not snarky. My takeaway from the video was to not be afraid to differ from the pack. It's okay to try new things until you find the method(s) that works for you. And that my friend is what a good teacher hopes to pass on.

Thanks for watching and please share what works best for you when attaching a drop-edge! I will also note, I comment on "how easy" the drop-edges broke loose with the hammer, when I should have said "how much force" it took to break them loose. A countertop should never have the same amount of force during the life of the countertop. It's just how I worded it 😁.

I believe your example here works just fine. Especially since the edges will have Bondo and epoxy coating them. Essentially making it "one" piece. I would not recommend not clamping wood products. Great video Keith.

Thank you, and thanks for your comment! Regarding clamping the drop edges, this is why I did the experiment to see if in-fact there was a noticeable difference with strength and adhesion. And I feel with using the 18g pin nails instead of 23g, I don't feel the clamps added additional strength for this particular application. Regarding cabinetry or other woodworking applications, I would agree with the use of clamps.

Great video! If anyone out there doesn’t have a brad nailer, I Purchased a cordless Ryobi one a couple of years ago, and I’ve been VERY happy with it! I wanted an option when doing rehabs in my multiunit buildings and didn’t want to run a compressor and bother my other tenants. I haven’t touched my pneumatic one since. Highly recommend.
