I wish Greg’s decision to drop Facebook had a bigger effect l, but even Facebook is too big to give a hoot. I appreciate this interview it was great to hear the content, Emily is cool and informed!!! Emily is a journalist so she knows she has a responsibility to seek comment from both sides. People running KZitem channels are not necessarily trained as journalists. Do they really have a responsibility to be journalists?

I'm an affiliate owner, CF-L3, interned with seminar staff (decided not to go back after my 3rd weekend due to staff culture), I've been in CrossFit for over 10 years. I've just de-affiliated and a large reason for doing so has been highlighted in this video. Since Greg's dismissal, there is no integrity left in the company. Instead, the athletes of CrossFit have been allowed to drive the narrative of CrossFit, it hurts affiliates with the health mission on the frontline in so many ways. It's a shame because that vision he had was shared by the majority of affiliates and we are constantly battling with each other trying to educate clients on what it's not vs what it is and now CrossFit are not helping with this battle because they just want mass participation.

I opened my affiliate 2 months before Glassman shut down ALL social media. Also, I paid $1200 a year to Crossfit RRG in addition to the $3k. So, I did struggle to see the value in the $3k. The $3k brought its value from the Google listing. The Google listing worked because of CrossFit media… If the deal is no media, then then you have to consider if that money is better spent on paid ad campaigns. All that said, Glassman has an eye for the truth and I’d still follow him into battle. Whatever he’s got going on with Broken Science, I hope he impacts it the same way he impacted fitness.

Many things that are conflicting in perspective can be true, all at the same time. I resonate with some of things said here and disagree fully with others. It's complicated. Greg can be a visionary and have changed hundreds of thousands of lives, and he can also be a not-so-great business person and leader of an organization.

I'm finding this video 5 months after its posting (not sure how I missed it). This is an excellent interview and fills in a lot of unknown history. Andrew should do more interviews; he has a talent for it. I'm sure Emily will do a great job on the "story," but I hope it isn't singularly a "whitewashed" version. Bias is an adversary of truth. Greg and the OGs are fascinating, amazing people, worthy of tremendous respect and praise, but also, no person(s) or thing is without blemish (even if the good overwhelmingly outweighs some less-than-good). Think Achilles, Jefferson, or Oppenheimer.

Looking forward to watching this, but for anyone who wants to counter or add to Tealander’s video, the best way is to match his effort. Or at least make a concise standalone video. Sevan occasionally goes on rants about Glassman’s treatment, and he’s had Kaplan on too. But two hour long videos don’t reach the masses. And Sevan’s comments are normally just somewhere in the middle of a two hour podcast sandwiched between chat about Fantanol and Abortion. Not very shareable. How about a few of you get together and make a good sub 20minutes video ‘The real truth’ etc.

This stuff had kept me up at night. Greg exiting and having no one to keep fitness legal was mind boggling. How could affiliates and other trainers and crossfitters let that happen. (Because no one was paying attention.) We get updates about the legal team taking down infringement and fake affiliates, but that behind the scenes battle to protect our ability to teach a squat the way we do is what matters more in the grand scheme of it all. It was completely messed up when the case was settled. I'm constantly waiting for more information to unfold.

This interview makes me not believe Greg's side now. After watching zac video I didn't think everything was true, but now hearing her talk makes me question it. She lied about not knowing who zac was, she states she was trying to get him on sevys podcast, saying he's been on sevys podcast before, but also says she's never heard of zac before. Just my opinion. She laughs alot about some of these topics (says alot about deceiving people in my opinion) Andy's rant had alot of emotion almost anger, as he reliving the experience as he's explaining. To me there's something there in his point of view at least or what he believes is right and wrong whether or not it truly is or not.

What are you talking about? I had never heard of ZT before the link was sent to me on Sunday. “She was trying to get him on Sevan’s podcast.” Do you think I book Sevan’s guests? I don’t. I knew he was on Sevan’s podcast because I talked to Sevan on the phone on Sunday and he told me… I don’t listen to Sevan’s podcast (or anyone’s) but he’s a friend of mine and knows a ton so I talk to him. @eckemily I don't think you book sevans guest, I was just referring to when you said you like to have him on sevans podcast to discuss the journalism he was reporting. I hope Greg accusations are just that, I thought what he was doing for health and the message he was pushing was amazing for the general pop, and going after the big sugar companies. And the lawsuit the the new regin just decided to settle(upsetting to hear). But having seen the email with the affiliate and the tweet that comes out during that time, and with having you immediately defending him over ZT video just makes yourself wonder.... huh maybe some thing are there are true.. but who knows, again just saying it's the vibe I personally feel. I'm just another bunch of atoms put together flying through space, my small opinion in this moment in time is just that. Innocent till proven guilty so I still respect Greg and all the work he's done for the community and overall health.

The CrossFit ideology/dogma/blind faith statement that sugar is the enemy is unfortunately factually incorrect. As always, the reality is that it depends. There has to be plenty of room for nuance in nutrition. The 'average American' that's pounding Dr Peppers and French fries and chef Boyardee would probably/likely benefit from taking in less simple sugars. But the prescription must match the desired outcome. For many athletes - and very likely most CrossFitters, even recreational athletes - limiting carbs can be pretty big mistake if you're trying to maximize your athletic potential. The zone diet, for example, would lead many to actually undereat. Maybe that's a good thing if there's some body comp improvement desired. But for many, you'll crash and burn and see more injuries and lack of desire to train. Carbs/sugars aren't bad. It's what you do with them that matters.
@shieldofdr3588
Жыл бұрын
No. A human being needs no processed, added sugar, and it has all sorts of well-studied detrimental effects, such as glycation, dramatic insulin spikes, etc. Sugar is the enemy, or rather it is an enemy. The diet prescription of CF never precluded carbs or natural sugar, never made either "the enemy". It just warned about minimizing starches, i.e, rice, pasta, bread, etc, and only consuming "some" fruit. The CF diet prescription isn't keto, which is the position you seem to imply it is. Further, the vast majority of people need nowhere near the amount of carbohydrate that they consume, to include especially gulping down pre-workout garbage. It's supplement companies and sugar addicts who fight against this perfectly sane and sensible idea.
