I love the steel and want to get one and learn how to play, listening to David Hartley makes it so easy, what a talent this man has for classic country that has been lost in today's so called country music

I first learned to play in 1958 shortly after I arrived in this country as an orphan from Scotland. I played for the next 8 years until I went into the service. Never saw the "steel" again. Have pretty much forgotten all I knew. I'm 75 now.

Steel Guitar is my very Favorite of all music instruments. The sound almost talks to oneself. It sure touches ones emotions. Before I retired my supervisor Doc Martin, use to play Steel Guitar for Country Singer "Red" Foley many years ago. "Doc" is a perfectionist, so I know he played very well. In fact he said that He invented the foot pedals on Steel Guitars.

Steel guitar is one of only instruments that can genuinely make me cry! This instrument has so much soul, it’s almost like another voice. One thing I’m surprised I didn’t hear more steel players do is use it for harmonizing vocals. Hope you put out another video sometime soon!

Dave, I have been enjoying your music for some time now. Even bought a pedal steel, trying to convert to it. Not an easy thing to do for us who never played a steel. I've listened to many steel players over the past couple of years trying to pick up some things and can truthfully say NOBODY has the touch like you on a pedal steel. I like John Hughey's very much and others also but Dave I think you are the best I've heard. Please keep the good music coming. I live near Fred Justice in Mesa Az.

The great Cindy Walker, only gone from us a couple of years, wrote "going away party" in the realization that Bob Wills was nearing the end. Look up the amazing poem she wrote for him as he inevitably faded. The double album For the last time says it all, w/ Leon Rausch, in his eighties, singing. Makes you cry?
