Why does the elongation cycle stop when we have C16-acyl ACP? Does it always stop at 16 carbon-atoms or could the chain be longer/shorter?? And i dont understand why you talk about palmitate. I understand that it is a 16 carbon fatty acid, but does "fatty acid synthesis" always only synthesize palmitate? Thank you for this videos! They are really helpful :)
@idilfarah2798

I have just found out that, there are enzymes on the cytoplasmic face of the endoplasmic reticulum membran that catalyze the elongation reactions in which longer fatty acids are formed.
