No problems at all! Couldn't find another walk through type video for this kit so it made sense to make one. All the best with it!

How does this compare with the greddy vmount kit? Greddy looks smaller but more complete?

Just real quick if you have time, can you explain to me the reason and advantages of an ast delete please jon! Thanks again for the content, always like re-watching your build series.

Hi Paul! Thanks for keeping in touch through the comments. I believe Mazda put the AST there to assist with reducing the effects of cavitation. How effective it is i don't think we'll ever know. I deleted it pretty quickly for simplicity's sake. One less thing to worry about breaking and cleans up the engine bay. One note to add by my background coming from Honda's. In race applications, we use coolant swirl pots to help with air/water separation especially as the location of the radiatior is generally lower than the engine. However the AST location is lower, and I haven't seen this done much in the rotary world! If someone has more experience with this, please chime in!

Awesome video! I have been wanting this kit myself, just needed to see it a few times before pulling the trigger. After you get the car running, can you make a video on the fan ground clearance and the effectiveness of your AC?

damn, HKS really makes some nice stuff :D weird that there was no ducting for the intercooler.

Yeah they really make a mint kit! You mean ducting on the side?

Nice stuff Jono. Hks kit looks good but I think I like the look of the greddy kit being flat etc. In saying that the size of the hks core will help with cooling which is the main point of the kit to begin with.
@JCYT

Yeah! I reckon the GReddy looks more contoured to the layout of the engine bay.

Hey man I've been really interested in getting this kit, you have the best video I've found so far on installing it, I just had one question does the radiator stick down below your front lip on the front bumper? I know the fans stick down below the lip but I'm trying to run an undertray/front splitter setup for the track that mounts right under the front lip so as long as the radiator doesn't go below that I can order aftermarket low profile fans and hopefully have it fit, thanks for the help!
@JCYT

Cheers mate yes i think it might be the only video for installing it hahaha Message me on instagram - thehillbillyhatch and i can send you some pics. I'd have to double check if the radiator sits below the lip but i'm pretty sure only the fans are low. Also - the factory undertray will not fit with the stock fans.

Would you recommend a greddy v mount or this hks vmount? Around 600hp. Would you get either as a used piece for sale?
@JCYT
Жыл бұрын
I have seen the greddy in person. I really don't think you could go wrong with either kit. But I see the benefits of the HKS over GReddy having a bigger core and also compatible with the stock radiator. The radiator piping of the HKS kit is pretty fiddly as fitment is tight. Good luck with your choice!

if you do not have a/c is that deflector necessary?
@JCYT
8 ай бұрын
Hey mate Yes 100% that deflector is absolutely vital in any vmount system. It's not only the orientation but airflow which makes a vmount effective.

My PWR rad is a factory replacement, so if yours is in different positions, it's probably custom/retrofitted.
