Very often, you find you need to get down low on the ground, lying down to get to eye level with your subject. These shots are more pleasing to the eye as the background is likely to be very blurred and the subject is isolated against that backdrop. But for me, and perhaps older people as well, I find this uncomfortable - putting strain on my neck and lower back. So i became interested in using a 'field monitor' so i could remain upright, sitting low down and not hurting myself. Of course you could simply use one normally - they don't add much weight to carry.
So, in this video I will demonstrate and review a Feelworld LUT6 field monitor in the field and back in my studio. I give a full, in the real world demonstration amd look at all the fittings and functions. If you are interested in perhaps using one, you need to do some research in to which is the right one for you.
One important aspect you need to consider is how bright does the monitor go to, given you will be outside, in the full sun. Most sources quote that you need to find a monitor that achieves at least 600ish NITS (from the Latin Nitier, to brighten) NITS are interchangeable with Candela/M2 - however, i would strongly suggest looking for higher NIT values than that. The Feelworld LUT6 is rated at 2600 NITS.
