Not sure if stainless steel staples are available, but it would keep the fence from having those streaks running down the boards.

Wow I'm just getting around to finally buying a few power tools such as a finish nailer, compressor. I don't know why but I just always thought everything had to be done with a hammer, nails and a cheap circular saw, I'm 57 and am actually finally excited to start a wood project, haha I'm building a porch landing and installing a new pull down attic ladder because I won't have a mouthful of nails, a hammer and extension cord to drag a mile and back!!!

Actually everything can be done with a cheap circular saw hammer and nails. Just isn’t as fun. Welcome to the world of power tools. You can now enjoy what we all do. Expensive tools we hardly use taking up space in our sheds, garages, truck beds and in my case apartment closets. Now when I rag on my ole lady about her shoe collection she has a retort. “ So whats all that crap in your closets doing you can’t wear it.”

Not sure how the climate in your region but in winter summer temperature cycle, those pickets will shrink and expand and eventually those staples will come loose. The factory nails are even worse. Anything other then full round head ring shanked galvanized or SS nails will not last for the expected life of the fence.

Makes sense. A lot of old hardwood flooring is put in with staples. In fact, when you google... are staples or nails better for hardwood floors? Here's one of the answers you get. "Nails and staples differ in their holding properties. A staple will give a stronger, less-forgiving hold because of its two-pronged construction. Nails allow for a more natural expansion and contraction of the hardwood floorboards with fewer problems."

Never saying anyone’s way is wrong, I build my stuff on my property the way I like and others can build the way they like. When I was at Lowe’s and home depot and was looking at the prefab 8ft sections of fencing they sell and measured the thickness of the cross piece it’s ruffly the same as ripping a treated 2+4 in 1/2. So that’s why I did it. Thanks for commenting helps the videos. Have a blessed and great day!!
