There’s a lot of confusion as to how the switching on these guitars work. I own one of each and here’s the deal. The Lead 2 top switch is a 3 way selector. The bottom switch is a phase switch that only works when both pickups are selected!!! (3 way in the middle position). Lead 3 top switch is 3 way and the bottom switch is a coil splitter. You can split only one at a time but never both at once!!!! This model also has 7 tonal possibilities while the Lead 2 has 4!!!!!

The 2021 fender boxer strat is a good alternative to these. The neck is radius'd to 12" and its got medium jumbo frets. Dual humbuckers with 3 way switch and coil split. Also it has a treble bass expander tone pot that is great for giving that little boost into a solo

I have already a lot of guitars with humbuckers ! I like the Lead II most en would let it like it is ! Sounds incredible ! Maybe experiment with single coils and sound different for a change.

Well you can always do it the Hendrix way where you turn the guitar over and put the strings in reverse Plus I think it looks awesome

I bought the Lead 3 in May 2021 in Sienna Burst. Awesome guitars. I love the Lead 2 in the trans crimson but Pau Ferro is a deal breaker. He said the boards are Laurel, they’re not.

@@jacksonc2737Why to Pau Ferro? It’s inconsistent and streaky. I’ve a Squier with Laurel and it’s close to rosewood. Although Fender have reintroduced Rosewood to the Vintera 2 series, I’ve seen lots of very streaky fingerboards.

Any idea how deep/thick the body is? Is it thick enough to accommodate a tremolo bridge? (Floyd or vintage type)

Full thickness, full scale. Hardtail bridges. To put in a FR bridge you’re talking serious butchery. Is it worth it? Not with the millions of FR equipped axes on the market!!
