All cars of this era were a decent price. A rare S54 M Coupe you could get for like $25k a decade ago being in decent shape. Now the same car is worth like $80k. People threw these cars out because they 'weren't fast enough' but people are now realizing that it's not all about 0-60 times. Besides, this car, or even a slower S54 based BMW from the similar vintage are still remarkably fast cars for the street, at the end of the day.

“long-forgotten”?! LOL… Where to start?! Regarding the plastic, I’ve never seen any of it warp unless it’s been left in the sun. Can the vents crack? Yes. Can they be replaced? Yes. Should a car that cost this much at the time have some more attention to these kinds of details? Sure. Has Ferrari ever cared about that? No. I think the biggest thing you missed and didn’t mention at all on the interior is the need to address the “sticky buttons” issue (which most of us have done by now). That adds expense and it’s certainly something that needs to be addressed unless you enjoy goo on your fingers. Regarding the models, first off, there’s no such thing as a “360 Spider Modena”. A spider is a convertible (what on some Ferrari models is known as a “GTS” - but not on the 360). The Modena model refers exclusively to the coupe version of the 360 (what, in many models of Ferrari - but, again, not the 360 - is known as a “GTB”). Further, Modena (as in the city or this model) should be pronounced “moe-deh-nuh” (not “moe-dee-nah” as you say it, or “mah-deh-nuh” as others mistakenly pronounce it). Further, you mistakenly say that there are only three models of 360. This is incorrect. There are eight different models. By order of appearance, these are: • Modena (began production in 1999; appx 8,800 produced) • Spider (2000; appx 7,565 produced) • Barchetta (2000 - only one unit produced) • Modena Challenge (2000 - less than 200 produced; not street legal) • N-GT (2000-2001 - only 17 produced; not street legal) • GT (2002-2004 - only 20 produced; not street legal) • Challenge Stradale (2003; appx 1,288 produced; street legal, track focused) • GTC (2003-2004 - only 10 produced; homologated from the Challenge Stradale; not street legal) Regarding downforce, you’re confusing kgF with lbsF. The official maximum downforce of the Ferrari 360 Modena at its (factory restricted) top speed is 595 lbsF, not “300 lbsF”. Downforce isn’t binary; i.e., it’s not 0 lbsF and then suddenly 595. Ferrari has never (to my knowledge) published the graph showing the curve (or data one could use to plot that curve), but I can attest from running both with the rear undertray off and with the rear undertray on that there is significant downforce at even 60 mph when cornering hard when the rear undertray is on. So there’s no question that Ferrari did do extensive wind tunnel testing while developing the 360. The inexplicable mistake, however, (which you fail to mention) is that the mirrors on the Modena and the Spider are not optimized for the upper air ducts. This shortcoming is addressed on the Challenge Stradale and all of the track-going variants of the 360; also note that Frank Stephenson radically redesigned the side mirrors for this reason on the F430 (speaking of which, a 360 should never be called an “F360” - preemptive strike; jus’ sayin’). RE: The F1… “No thanks” and “Yes, do not get that gearbox”. Guess what? You got that “gearbox”. That’s the gearbox you tested. Yes, that’s correct. The manual you tested is the same gearbox. The F1 system is, in technical terminology, an “electrohydraulic-actuated automated manual transmission”. That’s right: It’s a manual transmission - the exact same! manual transmission - that has automated several aspects of shifting using a combination of a TCU and hydraulics. It does many things better and faster than any human can do, including Lewis Hamilton. Read that again: This “old” 1999 piece of technology is better and faster than Lewis Hamilton (or any other F1 driver of your choice). The beauty of the F1 (unlike DCTs) is that it provides you with the single-clutch manual experience, but at a ridiculous level of speed and precision. I could go on and on about how the biggest upgrade you can make to a 360 Modena (or Spider) is having the TCU’s map changed to the Challenge Stradale (or one of the Challenge car) maps and how that will make the TCU do even more Lewis Hamilton-like things that us mere mortals could never dream of doing without at least (according to Malcolm Gladwell) “10,000 hours of practice”. But you can just go to Aldous Voice’s page and read all about that in one of many of his posts about the 360 and F1 (e.g., aldousvoice.com/2013/01/30/ferrari-360-f1-system/). Other than the paddles in lieu of the gated shifter, there is one - and only one difference between the manual transmission you tested and the manual transmission that’s in the F1-equipped 360s and that’s the throw-out bearing. Lastly, bear in mind that the Modena Challenge, the N-GT, the GT, the Challenge Stradale, and the GTC - i.e., the 360s produced for maximum performance - were ONLY available in the F1 configuration which, on the Modena and the Spider, was an expensive premium option over the gated manual. “There are two reasons you buy this car”??? No, there are many reasons to buy this car; e.g., you forgot ROI, amongst other reasons related to non-technical aspects of the 360 driving experience. But in terms of the technical driving experience, I do agree there are two reasons; they’re just not the two reasons you mention exactly. Either you buy this car (1) for a racecar-like experience from this vintage of 8-cylinder Ferrari - in which case you buy an F1 Modena, the Challenge Stradale, or any of the track-only versions; or (2) for the second-to-last (about 10% of the F430s were produced in gated manual) “Red Barchetta” experiences from the 8-cylinder Ferraris; i.e., you buy a gated manual Spider, put the top down and (inefficiently, but viscerally) enjoy shifting through the gears yourself.

I loved my 355 GTS 1996 6 speed manual, awesome vehicle and interesting to have a modern take with a similar model. Taking people for a ride and hearing about how unbelievably fast it was, made me laugh so much, as 0 to 100mph in around 10 seconds was tortoise like, after my Honda Blackbird. Great passion and video guys, wonderful........

400 HP is plenty for the road. How many people can actually use the 5 or 600 plus HP monsters of the last 10 years? Without losing your licence or killing yourself? And the clean lines of the 360 are worth it on their own, let alone the noise! Great review!!

I listened through a set of headphones. You've managed to capture the incredible sound of that machine, even with KZitem's compression. Well done.

I'll never understand why people keep saying "YT compression" like YT has a 56kbps MP3 for audio lol. It's not 2008 anymore.

I'll never not be jealous of this. Who cares if it is feels like 20 dead Polish lineage at blarneys Island. This is THE Ferrari sound and experience
