@@LandonBishoff Well we are all probably guilty of owning something Klim but you get my point. The KZitem algorithm brought you to me so I guess it's still good for something. I have been binge watching you today on this rainy day in BC, getting to Sayulita now. You continue to impress, great entertainment to live vicariously through as you are doing it much like I would. I did a similar trip to you back in 96 when I probably was a similar age to what you are now. Spent 8 months driving a truck to Panama and back. The trip was surf focused so most time was spent on the coast. But plans were very loose depending on the vibe and which way the wind blows. You could end up hanging at a place for 3 weeks, or be gone at sunrise, you just go with the flow. I really want to ride the moto on a similar trip one of these years, the ultimate would be getting down to South America. But I need 6 months plus which just isn't in the foreseeable future, at least for a couple more years. I got a DR650 a couple years ago for this purpose, I have always been an offroad MX guy. For now I have been just doing great trips around BC. If you ever come this way riding I could show you some great adventures.

It can be complicated if you are trying to keep it in the u.s. not just visit. Especially California where I live because of smog laws. Dual plates? I didn’t even know that existed haha yeah keeping it in would probably be a trickier deal. Not that it’s super complicated, just for the simple fact of the local bureaucracy being disorganized

You know I really appreciate you taking the time to write this out. The idea of someone looking from the outside in on me is extremely interesting. It’s something new to me and I feel like it’s just gold to learn from. Since you guys see things that about me that im blind to. The positivity thing, I guess I just always feel super lucky for how things have gone along for me in life. Sometimes I actually feel guilty at times, because I feel like I haven’t had enough traumatic experiences happen to me, that other people go though everyday. As for the no fake drama part I think I’ll be able to stay pretty true to that. I hate the whole blow it out of proportion kinda vibe. I do however want to learn the balance of “showcasing and being a good entertainer” ultimately that’s what I am at the end of the day on this platform. I’d like to learn was to be a better story teller, and better at delivering the experiences that happen to me. Responding to comments I just feel like is bare minimum effort haha. I’m not that popular to where I can’t respond to people who have no obligation to comment in the fist place. I’m gonna post videos despite how many people say nice things. It’s actually truly selfless to write a nice compliment. On the other hand me, I could have a list of alternative motives to respond. The impressive is you and everyone else who takes the time to comment.

Ohhh interesting I haven't even heard of anyone doing that. Does the Tip time frame start right when you take it out of the US embassy or when you cross into Mexico? You know that’s very kind my friend! If people chipped in the other problem is I didn’t grow up doing this and so I’m not really sure what safety stuff I need to invest into. So I need to do some serious investigating in what I would even wear. For example one of my close friends swears by knee braces, talking about how they are some of the lost common injuries for off-road bikes and cost the most. I just haven’t done the research to which ones. I also don’t know if I could realistically see myself wearing them. It’s just a lot of things like that. What I need to do is go to big store that has all this stuff and try It on. Because at the end of the day if it’s too uncomfortable or makes me super hot, I’m not gonna wear it. There’s my rant of excuses haha.

I think you’re doing fine Landon. You made it a lot further than most of us doing it your way. I’ve been on a few long trips myself and you can only carry so much stuff, especially on a 500. P.S. My humble opinion is that knee braces are a big PIA and wouldn’t be practical on a trip like yours. God bless!
@LandonBishoff
Жыл бұрын
@@squid148 Haha thanks Squid! Yeah I mean I think back on some of the greatest adventures the world has known and a lot of them just went ya know. It wasn’t about all this how done up and prepared can i be? Because at the end of the day what I’ve learned about “preparedness” in this case specifically safety… It can never actually be satisfied. Theirs always one more extra thing you can do, one more product to spend more money on that’s better than another. At the end of the day the “safest” thing to do is actually not be on a motorcycle hahaha but yeah I feel like I’ve never seen anyone wear the knee braces on a long style trip like this. I do think something for my neck could be worth it. Maybe, maybe a chest protector. I just don’t know if I had it if I would use it.

Thanks Max! You should absolutely do it my friend! And I appreciate the kind words the secret is im on a dirt bike you know so its a huge advantage. If you even just bought a used dirt bike and took it out a bit you could learn alot about being on the dirt. However being on a heavier bike will always be harder off-road. In la paz I stayed at Heroes de Independencia. Other tips I mean I would just say go out and ride more. If dirt is intimidating just go try some easy dirt roads and take it slow. its all just time on the bike you know.
