I think you did nice work there, and did a good job on this video. As one of the people who do tech support for Eurocompulsion, I wish to point out a couple things. I know this isn't a commercial channel, so if you want to delete my comment, I won't have an issue with it. We at EC do not suggest using our cross pipe with a GWR mid pipe. Our product description on our website is specific, is says it works with the stock midpipe. The rubbing problem in this case is caused by our cross pipe being connected to a competitor's mid pipe, which is something it's not designed to do. With the stock midpipe it won't rub. Thanks again for making Fiat videos, I enjoy them.

He was constantly getting error P0137 and I think the theory was the GWR crosspipe was causing that, so the EC crosspipe was installed instead. I really don't know why that installation was done as like you say it's only meant for the factory exhaust. It's pretty clear to me now the P0137 errors were from the GWR crosspipe not being seated fully to the downpipe. It's great now, and he has a pefectly good EC crosspipe available to pass along to someone else 😆

@@BookAutowerks That makes sense, but I could find anyplace in the video where you mentioned that it's a GWR midpipe. Someone watching this without reading the video description will think that our cross pipe causes this issue, which isn't the case. It' was bolted to something it's not supposed to be bolted to. That was the entire issue. In any case, I'm glad Gabriel's car is running well. He is a good guy.

Oh yeah there's nothing wrong with the EC crosspipe. I do say in the video it was causing an issue with the GWR exhaust. The visual comparison was just for curiosity. The only conclusion given is that the factory one sucks 😄 I'm doing the write-up now and will make it clear the interference was only because the two systems aren't compatible and nothing is actually wrong with the EC crosspipe.

It was more so NGEN’s fault at the end of the day for assuming it would fit, not ECs. Although maybe it could have been larger or something so Brian could have noticed it wouldn’t fit. Worked out fine in the end at least.

@@GregsAirplanesandAutomobiles Thanks for telling in the comments that the rubbing was because of using GWR midpipe. I watched this video once it was released and it made me think EC had an "faulty" import from the supplier on that particular lot. I was sort of afraid to buy. Now everything is clear, once I read the comments after 2 months while re-watching the video.

Good video. Some comments. The springs at the crosspipe to midpipe connection really should be used. That connection is a joint and is meant to be able to move/flex. When installing the crosspipe, the first thing to tighten down are the nuts at the cat to crosspipe connection. This is to ensure that the crosspipe flange is square to the cat flange. A lot of people have had issues with the GWR 2.5” crosspipe leaking at the connection to the cat. You may have found one cause: the weld interfering with the nut. I have also read reports that the flange of the 2.5” crosspipe might be large enough that it butts up against the cat bracket. Some have also speculated that the inlet diameter is so large that there isn’t enough mating surface for the flange to the OEM copper gasket, necessitating a new and different gasket. Those OEM cat studs are trash :(

Nice video! I also had similar alignment issues with my GWR crosspipe. I decided to fully tighten to the downpipe side first just incase things did go south like what happened to you atleast it would be contained to the midpipe side and accessible. I cross threaded the little bracket that comes down to secure the crosspipe right by the midpipe connection. Luckily I was doing my midpipe too at the time so I was able to manhandle the downward sections to get it to mate. Also I am now in the habit of copper greasing anything hot and exposed to the road. Maybe not an issue given how clean your underside looks and probably your hot climate. But over here they salt the roads constantly and it rusts and seizes everything to all hell

Nickel anti-seize has an even higher temp rating than copper. Great for exhaust parts.

The EC crosspipe will fit on stock exhaust. The GWR is made for the GWR exhaust.

You can tell right away EC was expecting poor fitment by the larger mounting holes.
