The studs on the downpipe in the 124 Fiat Spider are notoriously fragile. When swapping out my crosspipe I did all the proper prep, soaked the bolts with penetrating oil for days in advance, heated the bolts with a heat gun, etc. Still snapped liked pretzels. I used a Dremel with a cutting disk to cut the bolt flush. The used a center punch to create a starting point in the middle of the stud. Lastly used cobalt bits to drill out the stud as well as enlarge the holes so I could fit M-10x1.5 nut and bolts. Also, to simplify the installation you should loosen all the exhaust clamps and brackets all the way back to the muffler. This will allow you to easily align the cross pipe as it is designed to be rigid while everything downstream from there is flexible.

Bracket - heat shield for clutch slave. Don't want that soft, spongy 3rd pedal. But then again, its an FCA - er, I mean Stellantis product so who knows?
