I video many of the small projects I work on and like to present them here on KZitem. I strive to keep production costs to a minimum and so decided to test some lighting options to improve video quality without spending too much.
In this video I did a test on two types of bulb for my lamps that illuminate my project being filmed. The lamps originally had fluorescent bulbs but these caused AC flicker in portions of the final video. I tested LED bulbs and they seemed to be flicker free, and provided a diffused light with soft shadows.
The LED lights are rated at 12 watt and 1270 Lumen. The lamps are set about 500mm apart and about 400mm to 500mm above the object being filmed. I think 9 to 12 watts in the Cool (daylight) white light colour is the best.
