Awesome colour really has injected life into the old girl you cant expect much from a small compressor they struggle to keep the air pressure up ok on small panels you persevered they run hot a small water trap help a bit you have both done a wonderful job the body preparation is a nightmare anyway cheers.

Thanks so much I'm so pleased everyone is liking the new colours I thought I'd get more stick for changing tbh I'm over the moon with the results so far . I honestly had know idea back when I purchased a compressor how helpful they are such a shame I only went to a tiny one but its on the purchase list at somepoint and I plan to help mu uncles austin a30 which hopefully will be painted on the channel I'm interested to see the difference with a powerful one . Hope your enjoying the channel thank you so much for the comment many thanks kris

Hello Kris I use 3m masking tape bit dearer but good quality. When changing colour I use the thin fine line tape first and then tape to that with thicker stuff. This will enable you to get an accurate line and good contact. This helps prevent paint bleeding through. Hope this helps

I used to work in compressed air…… a moisture filter would help…….a condenser dryer even better…… but horses for courses 👌🏽😎if I had my time again I’d have one of these an drop a 1275 innit😉💪🏼….. it’s coming on well.

I know don't I'd absolutely love to put a 1275 in it would fly lmao 🤣 you never known it sound like the sort of crazy think kris might do tbf. Thanks for the information regarding the compressor anything helps its such a hard tool to work with l. Ideally I need a bigger one but pennies are a little tight so I will try any suggestion to make this one work better

Love the slow cooker idea , be careful some paints especially primer will ‘cook?’ If they get to warm and just gum up the spray gun, only had it happen a couple of times but one to be aware of….
@krismann9101
Ай бұрын
Okay that's very helpful to know didn't know that but lucky I didn't bother with the primer but good shout . I think originally when I was going to paint it by brush the slow cooker was recomended to help the paint flatten I see know resean it wouldn't work but feel a little experimental so hope I'm not doing more harm then good . Judging by the results I'm over the moon so slow cookers might be apart of the win I would be interested to know how many other people do this . Many thanks kris

I know I'm a little paranoid about it vintage car and classic car people can be a little mean about changing colour my uncle is one of them . So pleased you agree with me there and to be honest the seats are non original and even the old paint was so I think to make the car my own is pretty cool 😎 thanks for all your comments hope your enjoying the channel I aim to improve with everyone I realise many thanks kris

Hi Kris, me again, thank you for those kind words regarding my comments from your previous video at the beginning of of this one, only 8 minutes in at the moment so enjoying it so far. The tape you require for none bleeding technology is called FROG tape, bit more expensive than normal masking tape but will do the job, its green and around a fiver. anyway going to watch the rest of this episode so may speak soon.

Hi Kris, you spoke about pressure and your gun ! the thing to understand is if you set your pressure at 40psi then that air is forced down into the hose and lets say your hose is 10metres long , then the pressure at the gun could be 35psi or lower, bit like voltage drop with an extension lead. If i were you purchase a pressure gauge with the water trap and fit to the gun then plug your air pipe into that. Lacquer is always applied a couple of PSI higher than your base coat which you can then set the correct PSI at the gun and alter as you go when the compressor struggles a little, by doing this you have a better chance of laying a nice wet looking coat without dry spots which look dullish. Fantastic job your both doing and very enjoyable to watch. Ian and the plank ! yeah why not its a yes from me but remember you did it in the cold winter month !!! ill leave that with you lol

If I'm being honest I started realising videos so my uncle that has had s Stoke could watch me doing my Austin up as he also has one but I really under estimated how helpful some of the comment can be honestly really appreciate this advice regarding the compressor and I will definitely be getting a water trap for the compressor. I would like to reinvest in a new one how powerful would you recommend for the type of work I'm going? Thanks again glad I got one vote for Ian taking a splash hahaha 😆

@@krismann9101 Hi Kris, as your not going to be spraying cars every week of the year and a hobbyist as am I, we have to be sensible regarding room and cost. I use a 2.5 hp 50litre compressor from SGS think the same one is around £149 who deliver next day bit noisy but i can have trigger fully open set at 29 psi for 43 seconds before it recharges , i use LVLP spray guns with an air regulator gauge and water trap, I get pretty good results. I use a 1.3 gun for base coat, a 1.2 gun for lacquer and a 1.8 for primer as its a heavier material and all LVLP. I think you and Ian have an honest genuine friendship not afraid to have a go at new things and your results are very good. I found your channel as I'm looking for an A30 needing tlc , watched all your vids now and found to be inspiring and honest which I find refreshing and rare these days.
