Thanks a ton for this. I have an extremely long project with countless intentional duplicates. While I already knew about the dupe detection feature, I was beyond excited to learn here that I could jump between duplicate ranges via a keyboard shortcut. This is SO insanely helpful. Thanks again!

Excellent presentation Robin. That is a pretty good implementation from Apple, by any account.

Thanks! And yes, I totally agree as you can see. 😄 I really love how they manage to still implement something so "common" in such a unique and clever way.

Thank you so much for the video, however now I have found the duplicates how do I replace the duplicates with one original?

With the "Replace" command? Or slip edit the clip to a different section?

The answer starts at 2:41 - This is why I like TikTok they have to tell you the answer right away

Er, yeah. That's what *_CHAPTERS_* are for. Go figure. And it's 2:42 actually. 😏 And it would be new to me that TIKTOK of all places has chapters. And I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything at this level there also. But hey, if so, go for it and feel free to ignore this! 👍🏼

I always thought 'show used ranges' in the browser was much more useful than dupe detection, so I never really missed it that much, but having both is even better and it seems to be very well implemented. Not sure about those hatched lines though....

Yeah, wasn't sure if or how much I needed them either. But as you say, it's certainly nice that they're there if I ever do! 😉 I really love the IMHO very clever implementation, yes. And I, too, felt the marking could have been more prominent in the timeline. I've already sent feedback, so we'll see what happens in future versions. Though I think they might feel that the index window compensates a lot for it, and I think they could be right. If I don't see any just by looking I can check the index window, and if I see one I can use the shortcut to find its "dupe" without the index. So… 🤷🏼♂ Nothing's perfect. ;)

I just tried the feature. It doesn't seem to work as I was expecting. My timeline is set to 30 FPS. I dropped in the same clip twice, which was shot in 60FPS. It detected as a Duplicate...good so far. But when I re-timed both clips to "Automatic" slowing them down to fit in the 30FPS timeline it no longer detected them as Duplicates. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

I guess you didn't watch the clip to the end? 😉 Try 09:14 Spoiler: no, you're not doing anything wrong.

Erm… no, that's *_not_* the extent of the update, in case you missed the beginning of the clip. 😏

Try try again. OR it may not meet the requirements. Do you have *_macOS 11.5.1_* or later installed on your Intel?
