Awesome! I've avoided trying to record MIDI without a click, thinking that the process of fitting a tempo was too much work. Thank you again, Kenny!

Sometimes it's just easier to play without a click and see where that ends up.

I wish there would be a track timebase TCP button to show / toggle its state, and same for MIDI items would be nice to not have to go deep into menus 😮

Great tutorial making use of the tempo markers that way. I am always running into the issue of lining up the click as I rather initially create takes without the click

Thanks for this video. I've had to figure this out myself over the time I've used REAPER, it's great to have it documented somewhere. Maybe you can convince your colleagues to add this info (or a link to this video) to the manual. Or even better, maybe you can convince your colleagues to make MIDI behave more like other items in REAPER without all of the extra steps... Thanks again!

I'd just like to add: this is the same approach I use for audio as well! And of course I learned this "trick" from Kenny! If the artists performance is tight enough, I can spare the metronome - afterwards I set my grid accordingly with the tempo/timesignature markers, so everything else that happens from here based on the grid. Oh dear, Reaper is such a great DAW!
