It's been cool here too. We've had a few little misty showers, but not a whole bunch of rain. About 65 acres left to go, and we're finished with corn planting. Then it's time to get ready for peanuts.

Good morning, Granny. I have had the experience of deer antlers stuck into tractor tires before. Daniel, you are correct. It does ruin the rest of the day. It happened to a new inside rear dual tire. Same tractor inside front dual a field later. Lost some time over those episodes. Got lucky after that, thankfully. Haven't had any since.

Those planters will handle that with no problem. (and worse than that) We do a LOT less tillage since planters have improved! Saves a LOT of money. Yields aren't affected, especially since he's applying "in furrow" amendments. I believe he sprayed pre plant and if so a lot of that will be dying off.
