Ah the nostalgy. Last time I've been traveling in a sleeper car was in 2002 or so, at that time I was a little boy. This January we are going to do it all again and the cabins are reserved from the old CEmt cars! Reunited after 22 years

The Škoda Transtech manufacturing is in Otanmäki, Kajaani. It was a mining town that ran out of ore and the present railway engine and car industry is a replacement from the 1985s, initially in Finnish hands.

ah; I thought Otanmäki is located near Oulu; so is the news true that VR was forced to buy 20 additional Edm sleeping cars in 2009 ?

As Finnish train run on Russian broad gauge, I believe the beds are a bit longer than on other European sleeping cars; the bed length was at least 2 meters

Have a look at minute 24:20 ; car owners drive their cars onto the auto-carrying rail cars; these railcars are then shunted and attached to the passenger train
