Obviously this is a conservative V1 of this, but the summon radius needs to be at least 1,000 feet. Think of a normal Walmart store with two entry/exits. You could park at one side of the store and exit from the other and have it meet you. Summon while you're checking out and it will be at the door when you exit.

@@DirtyTesla So long as you are responsible for it, even the current distance it works at is too much. You can't easily tell if it is getting itself into trouble near the max range, and of course there is at least some lag on the visual side and between you letting go and it stopping. Honestly it looks like a public alpha test of a system nowhere near being ready. In your testing, in what I would consider near perfect conditions, it drove itself outside the area and stopped wherever it was until you walked over and reactivated it, blocking the road and hit (or came very close to hitting) a curb and then stopped dead where it was. There is no excuse for either of those failures. It could easily have known that it was going to go out of range and that curb didn't exactly just come out of nowhere. In the case of going out of range, the car has to be able to get itself out of that situation, but since they need you to be responsible for it, there isn't a way for that to happen but the app should either refuse a summon that would likely do that or warn you adequately that you need to walk towards it or that it will abruptly stop in the middle of the road and impede traffic until you do it.

I would occasionally try to use the current version of summon if I came out of a building and it was raining. But I often ran into the same three problems. The circle would be too small, so that I would have to walk out into the rain to be close enough to the car to get it to come to me. The car would think that it was on a road and not in a parking lot so that it wouldn’t allow me to use summon. The parking lot would be active with cars moving around, and I knew that it would freeze and fail the first time it got anywhere near another moving vehicle.

This looks interesting but it's BS that the car can drive out of range. If the summon is initiated inside the range circle, then it should ignore if taking itself out of it. What if you were in a wheelchair wanting your car to get closer to pick you up in rain? Even if the range is expanded, it's BS that the car's path makes you have to move closer when you might not be able to in some circumstances. It absolutely can NOT stop in a main roadway if the car goes out of range or has an error. At least find a parking space and get out of the way or something.

Won't be useful until i can drop myself off at the Meijer, have it park wherever, then pick me up after I'm done. That's useful. I suppose this is first step.
