I went with the Zumspot (Raspberry PI) with PI-star. I use the radio itself to change reflectors, just like a reapeater in my local area. I don't have open the software any longer.

Looks like every time you use a different system, you need to manually do so, unlike Pi-Star, where you can enable whatever mode and it listens for it, i.e., I can have DMR, DSTAR and Fusion radios using one Pi-Star with all those modes active, pick anyone at random and just ptt away, without having to change profiles. Is the OpenSpot this limited?
@K6UDA
5 жыл бұрын
Yes. At first I was a bit disappointed about that until my friend with a nano spot told me that his biggest gripe was the fact that during a QSO on one mode, if the spot drops and there is traffic on another mode it will switch and he is SOL in the middle of his QSO. I get his point. It would have been nice to have the option though.

I’d be really interested to see, how well you can change FCS/YSF reflectors in Fusion radios. In the first OpenSpot, you had to use DTMF...and it wasn’t pretty, unlike with Pi-Star, where you use the Wires-X key to connect and then get the reflectors list, a much better experience than with the previous incantation of OpenSpot .
@K6UDA

I tried to do that yesterday on my FTM400. Didn't work. I was a little disappointed.

I have a Pi-Star and FT1D... when I use the WiresX key the list of reflectors is short - no where near the complete list to choose from. Am I missing something? With the OpenSpot I can use DTMF to enter any of the 4 reflectors and rooms.

Liked the video. In the begining of the video you entered a different frequency for the three modes. But later when you moved between modes you had to manually adjust those frequencies, why? I would like to enter two different frequencies. One for DMR And one for D Star. I would like it to work so that when I am on DMR the Open spot uses one frequency and when I am on D Star it uses another frequency (the frequencies added in quick start).
@K6UDA
5 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely do that but you'll have to change the frequency manually on the Openspot.

you can change talk groups with the various HTs (DMR, DSTAR, Fusion), or you need to do that through the PC/phone app?
