So I finally decided to sit down and share my experience with my first motorcycle. I basically explain why I chose a very cheap, smaller cc motorcycle and the good and bad things about it.
As I said, when it comes to purchasing your first motorcycle it would be wise to consider your own circumstances. You can wind up being satisfied with having a big bike or just a small little "Thumper". It basically depends on your own personal aspects.
But I don't recommend going out there and purchasing something that you deem as badass or sexy. Try the damn thing first, see if it matches your personality and if it brings you confidence when riding it.
But as in a lot of cases, a small bike will eventually help you develop skills and understand how riding a motorcycle works quicker than a big bike would. And once you've got that well embedded in your brain, you can always sell it or just get a bigger one. And when you get some proper experience with motorcycles, a 2nd bike choice will automatically be a great decision, again once you have spent enough time learning about the subject at hand.
So if you're out there planning to get your first bike, try and be reasonable about it. Don't just go for trivial aspects (albeit quite important for some) such as how it looks, how many HP it can put up and so on. Riding a motorcycle should be an a fun experience and not a scary and dreadful one so that you'll have your bike mostly sitting in the garage just because it doesn't give you enough confidence to just take it out any moment of the day, slap it around and have fun with it.
I hope you'll get the best bike for you. I truly hope so...
And the next part is about the dreadful carburetor job that everyone seems to run away from, and a spark plug change. I never saw a carb in my life, I have little experience when it comes to motorcycle mechanics but hey, I'm willing to learn new stuff every day. And so should you. Now I'm not saying that you should get old bikes that are carbureted and so on... But it is important to get your hands dirty with basic maintenance such as chain cleaning, lubing, adjusting this and that because a bike... well you should be totally safe when you get on it and know its condition and make sure there nothing that'll take you by surprise when riding it, due to poor maintenance. I do recommend knowing how your bike works and being able to adjust basic things here and there.
So yeah, my first carb job. May not be the best one but the motorcycle works now.
So if I can do it, anyone can!
I hope that spark plug got so fouled because of incorrect idle adjustment and perhaps because of it being a different model from the one that the manufacturer recommends. I'll keep y'all posted though.
Thanks for watching!
