This song has a different meaning to me. I have a son with Autism, who maybe doesn't quite fit into the "normal" world but is perfect in my eyes. Sometimes I just want to be in his world with him and forget the rest of the world.

If I remember correctly, I think it's about wanting a relationship with someone you can't be with, for whatever reason. This is total nonsense not sure where you got this information but it’s totally not about the troubles. Gary Lightbody has said its a love song he wrote while in love and happy in a relationship.
