42:35 What he means by "You have done it before" is twofold. Aang's past lives have all mastered all four elements before; but also, Aang himself is a prodigy, and was the youngest Air Nomad to *ever* master Airbending; That's why he has the tattoos, they are the symbol of a master Airbender. So essentially, if anyone can learn all four elements in that short of a timeframe, it was the guy that already mastered one by the time he was 12, and has the wisdom of countless past lives to draw upon.

@@DiggerTheDwarfI could’ve sworn that they already have tattoos when Wan meets them, and that’s before the Air Benders met the sky bison. So it might be that the Air Nomads and the sky bison just happened upon the arrow design that follows their chi paths. That sort of stuff happens all the time in nature. Just look at birds, insects, and bats. They all happened to converge on using wings to fly. Also crustaceans in the water all tend to converge into crabs, or crab-like animals. Trees actually tend to be completely unrelated to each other, but they just converged into similar traits and are now all labelled as trees. A similar thing could be happening with the Air Benders and the sky bison’s arrows. It’s just following their chi path. After all, airbending is considered the most spiritual style of bending, so it makes sense that the animals and people who airbend would have something similar.

The prison episode is an allegory for real world events. People being taken from their homes and locked up simply for their nature, even being betrayed and sold out by neighbors. It's curious that George Takei is in that one, I wonder if he chose it. George Takei was 5 when is family was taken into the American internment camps for being Japanese. It's not often, but the show does touch on some really important subjects that I never realized as a kid, only upon rewatching a few times.

For me, rewatching the show made me realize how mature it really is. The characters experience abuse, the horrors of war, mind control, and much more. Ello again guys! since you guys are uploading these in episode chunks im gunna try to keep my paragraphs about vague extended avatar lore/knowledge that doesnt get explained or barely touched upon in the story. like usual zero spoilers from me fam! also, to The Answer, i love how much the jokes nearly make u die laughing every time. i love seeing it haha ♥. Now for my tidbit of useless knowledge! lol. The Avatar (or the avatars' spirit) is a naturally accruing phenomenon in this world of bending. the order the elements are recited by Katara at the start of every episode "water, earth, fire, air" those are the elements listed IN the avatars cycle. every time the avatar dies, his or her's spirit reincarnates into the next nation in the cycle. it is also the natural, and best way/order, for the avatar to learn the elements regardless of where they start in the order. so Aang, a born air bender, his learning order should, and kinda has to be, water, earth then fire. remember, each of the bending elements also has an entire martial art paired with it that must be learned and mastered. But if we had a born earth bending avatar, that persons learning order would be fire, air, then water. fun food for thought, cause i know you guys are ahead of where you upload on youtube. If aang is the LAST air bender, what do you guys think that means for the avatar cycle? like when aang passes away, and eventually the cycle should come back to an air bender should be being born with the avatars spirit, what do you think might or should happen?
@SylvariRayne
Жыл бұрын
Omg i forgot to give a better explanation as to what happened with Roku there at the end of part 2. As i explained above, the avatar reincarnates, and near the start of the Winter Solstice part 1, the old man from the village says how the avatar is the bridge between the spirit world and the physical one. Basically, when u tack both of those things together the current avatar is able to commune with their past lives and allow them to "channel" through the current avatar under special circumstances like a winter solstice, a special spiritual location or being highly spiritual. These powers are also unique to the avatar. Ill try to keep my ear out for questions! Take care!

There are Benders who can focus their abilities to do things a bender can’t normally do, Aapa is technically an airbender and uses it to manipulate the air around him so he can fly, you will see other benders portray rare abilities too as this show and “Legend of Korra” goes on

@42:28 The Avatar is reincarnated ever time they die, and the present avatar is a cumulation of all the avatars that have come before, so that’s why Roku said that :)

The part where the doors open and everyone is expecting Aang but it's Roku always gives me goosebumps. Every time. His sheer power when blasting everyone away with fire bending (which Aang doesn't know yet at that point), melting Katara and Sokka's chains but without hurting them. It's not just power, it's control. Also, he must be furious at his nation (the fire nation) for starting a war, ruining the peace between all the nations and basically genociding the world after he died, and also that the sages who are supposed to help the Avatar have become loyal to the Fire Lord instead/would turn Aang in. Also, when Roku says "because you've done it before" (alluding to all Aang's past lives as the Avatar, including Roku himself) always feels so momentous.

when you guys are talking about binge-watching a show (avatar) actually had once a year on nickelodeon an avatar weekend where they would play all the episodes. Saturday: 6am till 6pm and Sunday 6am till 9pm without commercials and some small breaks in between.

This show was originally meant tot teach the young about life and how things work yes but at the same time even their parents were able to learn a great deal and that is why it is one of the most liked animations there is, and there is so much more about Iroh even I forgot. By the way awesome work you guys💯👍👍
