Exactly what I needed right now; awesome timing, John ✨ Also, I'm from South Africa, and here we call those succulents suurvygies/suurvye, or sour figs. When the flowers dry out, the bit underneath is an excellent emergency snack in the veld! We also make jam from them
@TheFishLocker
Жыл бұрын
I have heard of the jam before. Never tried to though. What does it taste like?
@PortalJay
Жыл бұрын
It's quite sweet, like regular figs, but sour and actually a bit salty too. People sometimes add spices like cinnamon and ginger to it. It's great with aged cheese and on toast. Another good one is prickly pear jam, which I find is somehow a bit savoury. One of my favourites is african nightshade jam; reminds me a bit of a spiced blackberry.

John, you have mentioned s your life jacket a few times in previous videos and I had been a bit bemused, ideally one does not want bouancy around the waiste as due to the possibility of being flooated head down, in hte case of unconciousness a deadly situation.
