Some random thoughts: Fisher will never allow a $100 million payroll. He promised to make the San Jose soccer team competitive once he got a new stadium there, but has yet to keep his word. The biggest problem in Sacto will be the 10k attendance maximum. The revenue there just won't cut it. IIRC from one of your earlier videos about SLC, Smith field has over double that capacity. Look for the A's to move again in 2026, to SLC. If LV falls through (which I expect) I think the A's are more likely to end up in Utah permanently rather than Sacramento. Sac is too close to the Bay Area for the Giants' comfort. You're a total class act, Brodie. I look forward to more videos as you grow your youtube channel.

Things are booming in Salt Lake City with NHL hockey and 2034 Winter Olympics. But the reality is if Utah gets a MLB team, then it will probably be a bad team at least in the early going. What are you talking about. The Mavericks were very well supported and the Beavers only left because they were forced out because the Timbers and MLS didn’t want to share a stadium. If Baseball came to Portland it would be very well supported. The team supports the Blazers, Timbers and Winterhawks well and the Portland Pickles do very well with attendance. Also don’t forget about the traffic from an eventual 1-5 rivalry between Portland and the Mariners. So no Portland would well support a baseball team in the city and honestly the team would probably be more popular in Portland and get more support than the Las Vegas A’s will

Looks like somebody's not happy about the move. 1. Rivercat stadium holds 14,000 not 10,000. 2. My understanding is all three years are almost sold out, which is a lot better than Oakland with less expenses.3. They still keep the TV rights in Sacramento 4. These players play all over the USA and most places its hot. Most summer nights in the northern valley cool down in summer. 5. Who worries about how many people other teams bring, probably way too many. 6. If they wanted to play in Utah, they would have went there but I'm sure Vegas will draw fans from all teams while they are playing against the A's. 6. A good many of the A's players are already familiar with the Rivercat stadium. Don't forget that was their triple A's home for 10 years and they had great attendance there. 7. The A's not spending is a problem with owners not just the stadium. I do agree they need to spend more. At least at Sacramento they will draw. Almost Double per year than they did at Oakland. This is a great move for them.

There is a lot to unpack in this whole city change. First , Fisher seemed to have no interest in negotiating a real deal with Oakland , either city or county for a contract at the Coliseum. He had eyes for something grander. He then had to get Ranadives permission to play in West Sac for a "few seasons" , we are not privy to the contract but Fisher has a tab to pick up here. Las Vegas is not nearly a done deal and the stadium may or may not get built. Utah are licking their chops hopeful of a baseball team coming their way. Sacramento wants Fisher to sell to Ranadive and get the Sac City council to build a stadium in the rail yards. (Still something they want to do.) Las Vegas wants MLB but not the A's, Utah wants MLB and does not care who it is. Sacramento would love an MLB team to go along with a decent NBA team and new construction in the rail yards; maybe with a soccer stadium for the Republic. So much going on. Since 1984 I drove to Oakland to see the A's, including $5 bleacher seats!! But I am not driving 9 miles to see the A's in 2025 for anything over $100 best seat ticket, forget it Fisher.

The more I hear about the move to Vegas the more I am convinced it is a carbon copy of the Phoenix Coyotes new rink development which never happened. There will be multiple bids for the A's franchise beginning next year and look to Salt Lake City as a possible location based on their quick success with the Utah Hockey Club. The NHL did give Phoenix a deadline of this past season's All Star Game which came and passed with no new., Immediately after that the wheels moved quickly and relocation just after that. Just a gut feeling nothing more.

Sacramento's goal is to bring baseball to Sacramento. They don't care if the A's is leave within a year or two, hell they don't even identify with the A's. They just want to prove to the MLB that a real market can be established if given a real chance, and this is their only chance. So all these prediction: hot weather, turfs, seats, price, payroll, play offs are all empty calories. However, in all "fairness" tickets do need to be sold if they want to reach their goals in having a major leauge team, but I am hard pressed to believe that seats won't be filled.

I think MLB will be watching the A’s time in Sacto very closely. I bet the league’s brass wants to see how the product does fiscally in a smaller stadium. If MLB actively wants the A’s in Vegas then Rob Manfred is an even bigger ignoramus than I thought and he deserves the debacle that will ensue. With as small of a market that LV is the team will almost certainly have to be one of the teams that has to rely on MLB to run streaming for them which will put them severely behind the 8 ball in terms of revenue and consequently payroll, which will not help endear them to fans in the nation’s smallest 4-sport market which also happens to be the live entertainment capital of the world. On top of that it will be inordinately subject to tourism to fill the seats at a time when a gnarly recession if not a depression is right around the corner. If Fischer is still the owner he will undoubtedly keep up his cheap antics and in a few years you’ll see Coliseum-esque attendance figures at that shiny new stadium.

The MLB schedule is done. Sutter Health is making a lot of progress expanding the clubhouses, they started before the River Cats season ended. Prior to the Giants become the the Affiliate, the A's were the AAA team in Sacramento and regularly set attendance records. There are a lot of A's fans there. MLB is playing there and may never leave. Prediction 1. Who cares whether they break ground in Las Vegas or not? They aren't going back to Oakland. Sacramento can build a stadium at the rail yards, Utah has a plan ready, plenty of options and Oakland is not one. Prediction 2. Sutter Health holds 14,000 not 10,000. If they make the playoffs, MLB will figure it out, they can easily play at Oracle. They are not going back to Oakland. Prediction 3. Again plenty of teams that can step in if Las Vegas doesn't workout, is that even a prediction? Prediction 4. It has been very clear that Sutter Health park is installing a turf field with hydration system to help with the heat on the field. The River Cats play there all season and have for 2 decades. Texas had the Rangers play without a roof from 1969 to 2019, this is being made out to be a lot more of an issue than it really is. Many MLB teams play in stadiums without roofs in very humid and hot parts of the country during the season. If anything this is going to be a home field advantage for the A's. Prediction 5. Who cares if they crack $100mil payroll? Prediction 6. Talk about it when it happens.

I predict A's to Vegas by '28--we will know by Dec. one way or the other most likely (they could stretch it out some per Hill into next year though, but probably by then). But Hill and third party looked at the books and Fisher and fam have it. He's all in after LV and officials did what they needed to do to set table. About a year and half into it, state and local officials and A's will do what is needed to move forward in Dec. from what they are saying. And Sacramento gets expansion. It was a bold move, smart move (in the very least, they get MLB for three years and a boost to local economy) but Viv is being very aggressive with this. He looks at it like a real opp which it is, to show out. He's already in with Fisher but making in-roads with Manfred and MLB by helping out. But getting something in return too. The heat is not really going to be a big factor with vast majority of games at night. A's with Sac move do not have to pay rent, they get a good chunk of media money still, and just doubled up their investment of Coli half, too. Upping ticket prices, so I can see where they will be in a better position to up pay roll even without being in LV yet. Salt Lake is too small a population for three sports teams with only being 1 M in metro population, and they are not a destination like Las Vegas is. Entertianment capital that was built for sports. Sports for so long just rejected it because of gambling. A's have fielded good teams and on the rise like last year without big payroll. Just doing more can help, but could be a decent amount more too with their situation even before LV. The heat could have been a big issue but most games at night help with that.
@JaredHargrave

Salt Lake's population is 1 million, yes. But you're not taking into account the adjacent Ogden and Provo metro areas and everything in between. The Wasatch Front metropolitan area is more like 2.6 million. Still small market, sure, but I think Utah would support a MLB team just fine.

The fact that the A's have turned off comments on all socials - even until now is - and I'll say it - extra fugly. Starting next season I'm going full board Blue Jay's. They rhyme with the A's, they sit as an under dog in their division.

Who are you kidding? Salt Lake City & Las Vegas are much hotter in the summer than Sacramento! Only someone from freezing Bay Area would complain about Sacramento summer heat! FYI, by 6 pm on average the temps in Sacto drop significantly when Delta Breezes gently blow in cool air from the Pacific (via SFBay). It doesn’t cool down to 68 f in the evenings in Salt Lake City or Las Vegas!

Utah should go after the Twins now that they are up for sale . As for the A’s Fisher can’t find anyone to invest with him, there is little to no interest in Las Vegas for the A’s coming , there is no fan base in Las Vegas or Los Angeles where most all the Raider fans come from every Sunday . Fisher when talking about the new stadium he said it will be good for fans of baseball , not Las Vegas fans or even A’s fans just fans of baseball as in other words we are building this for tourists we don’t give a shit about the locals because chances are nobody will be able to afford to go anyway ..SELL THE TEAM or go some place else .

This is going to be an absolute train wreck. And what sucks is Fisher will stick with it no matter how bad this fails. That has to be one of the worst parks even by Minor league standards. Up to 135 degrees in the summers. On fake turf? Are you kidding me? And to boot they still have to share the thing. How can MLB allow this?

They’re going from the biggest park in MLB. Or at least the AL to the absolute smallest stadium in MLB history. Or close to it. Im a Dodger fan, so some may say o shouldn’t be upset. Why won't Las Vegas take Padres instead of the A's? Padres is the only team left in San Diego. Other teams of pro/major leagues already left years ago: Chargers for LA (NFL), Clippers for LA (NBA). No NHL team has gone there. Unsure how long San Diego FC (MLS) will last, but MLS has struggled in broadcasting deals for years until its deal with Apple Inc. Padres lost the NLDS playoffs to Dodgers this year, and I suspect they lose either the NLCS or World Series next time. Well, they have been the amazing team this year, but they focused more on the defense than the offense in Game 5 of NLDS. I'm uncertain whether casual fans will stick around forever, and I watched one of your videos about Padres' issues with broadcasting deals lately.

@@skitown11 Crap! Didn't realize that the stadium is not yet built. Just recently, the last remainings of the Tropicana Las Vegas hotel were imploded. If Padres won't leave San Diego, unsure about Detroit Tigers. Detroit recently filed for bankruptcy protection a decade ago. This year, the Tigers is in the ALDS playoffs, but recently, the Cleveland Guardians scored a grand slam in the 5th inning. Honestly, was hoping that major league teams leave Detroit due to the bankruptcy protection filing, but amazed that the teams still have liked sticking around. How can Detroit afford to manage their home stadia-one of plurals of stadium; also the name for Google's short-lived cloud gaming service? Other than Tampa Bay Rays and Minnesota Twins, I don't know any other baseball teams interested in moving to Las Vegas.
