Wow this is really a good idea. I was wrapping mine with tape.

Just FYI...I had the same problem and fixed mine with tightly wound electrical tape around the shaft. Worked great. Might save someone a trip to Lowe’s to buy the brass fittings.

Thank you!! Very helpful. I plan to fix my ge cooktop knobs immediately. I sure wish that GE didn't make such cheap, crappy parts on their cooktop.

aggie 89 : I remember when these knobs were made of pot metal. They never broke. Now they are cheap plastic. I hope this solution works for you. Since I did my knobs, I’ve had no problems. Should be a permanent fix. (By the way, 422 views and only 2 likes and 1 comment. I was wondering if this video helped anyone? Thanks for the comment)

@@stantanner3348 Yes, it is helpful! The cheap knobs are a problem. But, trying to find the answer and videos is difficult. Give it some time, people will eventually find you. Thank you for the post!!

The length is 11/16”. I suppose 5/8” would work too. Or 17mm. I hope that helps. By the way, my fix is still working great. I know you will like it.

My GE gas range has knobs that are so easy to turn on, when you are just barely touching them, to either clean them, or just brushing up against them, as I am in the kitchen, they come on, and yes they do leak a lot of gas. Is there a fix for this issue? I have contacted GE and they offer only the advice of buying those knob covers that makes the knobs hard for a child to turn them on or off. I doubt that would work as it is so easy to turn it is scary. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue that you know of? I have also told GE that if my house blows up, I have told my attorney to file a suit against them, in my estates name. It is down right scary to be in bed, sound asleep and smell gas so strong you think you are going to die before you reach the stove to turn them off. I would love to hear from anyone who has had this issue or is now dealing with it. Thank you all, for listening.

I've experienced painting issues as well when cleaning the top where the numbers scrubbed off. I also see from this video that it appears you have experienced the same issue. In addition to @indazone1, have anyone else experienced this issue. Is this a defective area? Is there specific care cleaning instructions in the manual? I've never experienced this issue with other major brands where the markings come off or fade away while cleaning or wear or tear. Hopefully someone see this and will respond. Thank you.

Thanks for great advice! Can you tell me what is the length of the coupling? I can only find the C500 in Home Depot, C600 is not available. T

The paint indicators are fading on my range. I can’t find a fix for it. Need to repaint but how?

Hi @indazone1 any resolution about the paint? I have the same issue. Did you contact GE to see if this is a defective area? Is there a GE warranty coverage? How about home insurance or additional appliance insurance coverage? Please share what you've learnt. Thank you much
