After stipping down the Smithy, I seasoned it twice and will be testing it tomorrow! Hopefully it will do better!
What I did:
1. Strip skillet using Yellow Top oven cleaner.
2. Scrub it down.
3. Fully dry I with a towel, then heat from the stove.
4. Pour in white Vinegar until it was around 1" deep.
5. Bring vinegar to a simmer and let it sit for 15 minutes.
6. Scrub out the pan using Dawn and a Scotch-Brite pad.
7. dry and season twice.
