A dace fishing video on the River Douglas in Lancashire on the opening day of the river season. With the heavy rains across the UK a lot of rivers were flooded and un-fish-able when the 16th finally arrived. I'd kept on eye on all the river levels at most areas i could fish, and despite the fact that they were all falling, with the data suggesting they were fish-able, on arrival that was not the case, and so the River Douglas was actually the third river i'd arrived at on the opening day, and the only one worth fishing. My tactic was to trot a stick float with maggot. It was only a small river but from a previous session i knew it had a diverse range of fish species, and now it was just a matter of wetting a line.
