Yuppp we just had a heavy rainshower here in The Netherlands and I just check the drains in the curbs near my house. We don’t have thos big horizontal grates in the streets but a drain with two holes in the curb or a drain with a very small horizontal grate in street….a lot of leaves, grass and birch seed clogg the little drainage ditches that lead to those drains..I kick it through the holes and the water starts moving again…such a fun thing to do..

The DOT is in a rather dumb spot. Their priority should be maintenance and preservation of existing infrastructure, but higher ups and those not in the DOT put pressure on them to focus instead on beautification projects and expansions. When you've got a limited budget (as basically all agencies do), they can't do everything. It just takes some pressure from people like Post 10 to remind the DOT where their priorities are supposed to be.

1:50 look at the guy merging. They merge first, then indicate later. I am amazed by their philosophy.

It’s crazy to think that one part of the US is on fire 🔥 and another part is flooding 🌊

Had to look it up on google maps... Appears the house you turned around at is in a lot better shape now than what it once was.. Crazy the size of whirlpool there, I'm hoping for some decent rain where I am so I can go check things out

Grady from Practical Engineering did a video on “What is a culvert?” … I guess a few people need to watch it.
