It says the stems were used, meaning each element of the song (vocals, guitar, drums etc) are separated. I'd guess that the drums are actually unchanged, which is why they sound so good - they're the original drums. Everything else was able to be downtuned and tweaked individually. Very nice mix indeed.

here's a copy of my comment i wrote and posted before i read this: I live in Massachusetts and here we get fog. mist. But in Massachusetts, by default some are just fuckin fearless. I live up in the hilly western mass. and sometimes at like 6 in the morning you just find yourself in the middle of a forest, miles from any proper human life, walking through gray mist and darkness with only the sound of stepping over wet leaves and the repetitive psychotic lullaby of crickets to listen to. But I've grown up in the hills. And it's not frightening. Now, every once in a while you'll pass into some clearing, turning out to be on of those river-like rows of Transmission Towers, the same things in these videos. Rusty or cracked, but still out in the middle of nowhere carrying signal. Like a river. Sometimes you'll follow them up-hill for a few miles, or maybe down. Just wandering through forest and covering terrain on-foot is a serious part of New England culture. I pity those who don't know what it's like.
