I work in the ER in Florida. As a medical professional I can confirm 414 blood sugar is absolutely insane. And I DOUBT anyone in the ER would give her sugar knowing what her glucose levels were. Going into ketoacidosis can kill her. She needs direct medical attention NOW. Because this can without a doubt lead to her expiring. She really needs to get it together. Time is not on her side.

She is hiding something. But no way would Salah risk imprisonment and deportation to Syria (and the Syrian military draft) by not getting a very legal temporary marriage. It is illegal for men and women to live together otherwise. Temporary marriages are used to get around this legal issue. Chantal may just be hiding that status, although a temporary marriage in Kuwait can last for years if you want. Divorce is quick and easy. If he has a previous wife (up to 4 is legal) then probably the documentation would confirm that - other wives need to sign off on a new one. That's a remote possibility, though. More likely something about the dates and the temporary status is what she would like to keep private. I think that I wouldn't show a marriage license myself online. Not safe to show any such documents. Besides, they can be easily faked today so what's the point of even badgering her about it?

He’s on steroids and two anti rejection meds plus blood pressure meds etc. He’s on 10 medications total and yeah, his tummy hurts but he understands he will die without these medications and so we get through it. She’s so damn immature. I’m so sick of her complaining about how the meds hurt her tummy but also eats like total shit clearly she doesn’t give a damn about her health or her life and she should just admit it. The Canadian health care system isn't a bad one, but recent government policies have made it a bad one. At one point in the 80s and 90s there was more then enough nurses and doctors so that you didn't have to wait but again recent government changes have really put a strain on doctors and mainly nurses which in turn has made the health care system crumble. Also, people like foodie who don't pay for their taxes when they could trickles down to the system and causes a strain. Free health care is good and a necessity but it need to be helped to keep is that way.

Zero sympathy - she chooses to eat that poorly despite using medical resources in Kuwait and Canada which have given her advice. Her first diabetes discussion was a couple years ago but she "cured" herself and never checked her glucose again. Now she is sharing her stupidity - her version of her visits have always had incorrect information. Her acidity would have been checked when her glucose result was noted (standard practice in the laboratory) so she was not in danger of ketoacidosis (rare in T2 patients but life threatening in a T1 patient). Her recent issues with thirst and eye blurring can both be attributed to that high glucose (more information that makes me sure she has not tested her glucose since she got to Canada). Finally, in the healthcare world today in both the US and Canada, patients with T2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome use a disproportionate amount of healthcare for the disease and co-morbidities.

If her BS was 414 mg/dl she would be given some insulin, then kept for observation until her sugar was normal. If she told the ER Dr she did not have a family Dr they would not let her go without giving her medication. Many walk-in clinics will arrange to see you if you need care and medication until you get a Dr. They will arrange Bloodwork too. It’s not as good as a family Dr but it is something. Tying up the ER is not the way to go! ER is for emergencies, she could also go to Urgent Care if they have one. They are equipped for non-life threatening issues. I wonder does she have a glucometer and strips so she can at least measure her BS. She can buy the junk food but not the things to make sure her BS does not get too high?? Yeah priorities. 😳🙄

Glucose levels in T2D who are so highly insulin resistant doesn’t drop that easily. It would take days, if not weeks, to get it in normal levels even if they lock her in a room and feed her only what they want. E ER did their job, she got her glucose from 23 to 11 so although still very high, not in danger of hyperglycaemic episode. The ER is there to stabilise you and then send you to your doctor for monitoring and treatment.

Yup unfortunately things are pretty tight in the medical system in Canada right now. Long waits for ER and surgeries ect. They are literally saying do not get sick.

600 is high. Not terrifying or shocking because we see this all the time, but it’ll get you assigned a higher acuity. I had a patient today who did shock us with a bg of 1800 mg/dl which is ~100 mmol. We were shocked that he wasn’t already in a diabetic coma. THAT is incredible. Not 400-something. Rookie numbers.

She’s not an expat, that is someone who is hired by a company to work overseas. My husband worked in US Emeritus at a company as a guest, he WAS NOT an expat, it was temporary, he is employed by a fortune 100 company in the United States.

Some bullshit is going on. Kuwait is one of the most affordable cities to live in the world for foreigners to live and they are very nice to foreigners. They are also very well versed at performing WLS. this is bullshit here

She probably cannot afford the surgery and subsequent follow up visits specially if you don’t have insurance, something like that would still cost tens of thousand of dollars. The WLS surgery would be cheaper for her in Canada

Doesn't anyone or even a friend in her life care? Did she not post to keep in contact with Salah? No matter how I look at this its a sad state in her life no one around her will do well... anything.

It’s kind of meaningless at this point but she used it to describe her cats “misbehaving” so that’s the closest definition lol. Beezing is being bad

Weird that there is no date on her “proof”. There is, however, a blood gas and electrolytes (so they can check pH and bicarb levels that are elevated in ketoacidosis) and a UA (so you can check ketones). Why redact the date though? Bleh, I forgot…I don’t care. 😀

I didn't have meds or weightloss surgery to lose 40kgs, I just made the decision to have a strict calorie controlled eating plan and to move more. I have kept the weight off for over a year and will push for my goal weight after I have my baby in June 2024. FB just needs to want it and realise its a journey, not an overnight miracle.

Chantel is actually way more appealing to potential TLC deals than Amberlynn. Relationships marred by taboo physical intimacies and drugs. A slight 90 day fiance tie in. A built in audience. But then Chantel would have to tell the truth & thats something she'd never though
