The government need to pay and train dentists then open practices and pay the dentists a good income . Once people move away from private to these practices watch the cost come down

Way back in 1990 approx. my NHS dentist went private and then charged £10 to £15 for each of examination and scale and polish. Although I was low paid, I was happy to pay because I was being checked by a superb, professional technician. You get what you pay for. Today, I pay £75 for each of examination and scale and polish. Even though I'm a pensioner on £14k per year I am happy to meet the cost.

When I was a kid nhs dentist were there for all . Why the gov took it out of the NHS god knows . Put it back into the nhs. When I was a kid you were recalled for a check up every 2 years now it’s 6 months why is that go back to the 2 year check ups that will free up appointments

Does anyone know a poor dentist? Those who can afford private health insurance should pay for treatment. Nhs treatment for those who cannot private insurance.

I am sick of simplistic people with simplistic solutions. If this was an easy fix, it would've been fixed. The guy who called in to simply say that everyone is greedy is a classic British caller, whose brain has been boiled by right wing media. Right wingers love freedom until it inconveniences them, then they want to force dentists to work in the NHS against their will. Ludicrous people.

The bloke with two teeth is representative of the masses in the same boat but private dentists will not, quite understandably wish to treat them because the remedial work will be immense, costly and so time consuming that they will not be able to satisfy the patients they already have who happily meet the cost of treatment their dentist requests. These fools should have got their priorities in order. Now they are whining when it's all too late.
