Well jay the aftermarket parts get better all the time haha I had a Ford 5000 it was a monster for only 85 hp but we chucked out that air filter and went with a dry air filter cartridge . It worked a lot better after that . It came from the factory with the either spray to start and it fired up in the winter every time.

I don't mind the oil bath cleaner, I've got it pretty clean now and I'll try to remember to clean it more often. Didn't know Ford made a tractor with an ether spray system.

Farmboy's Garage yes it came with the canister holder for the short cans of either and a steel rod you pulled that pressed the canister to spray .

I know how it is on parts like that you have to cobble it up to make it fit, on that oil bath air cleaner my little international got one the way I cleaned mine is pour some diesel fuel in it and set it a fire it will burn most of the crap out.

I agree on contacting the seller before purchasing to make sure the dimensions are correct on aftermarket parts.

Manufactures don't take pride in there products anymore. It's too expensive I guess. But you have the skill to modify and shape that cowling to make it fit. I hope it comes out okay. It's a good thing you took a look at the air cleaner.

Why not just remove the fan and trim the blades down to 15".

If it isn't balanced right, it'll end up tearing the bearings up in the water pump.
