if you're able to weld a nut to what is left over of the stud do so and then take it out like a normal Bolt if not you're going to have to drill it out possibly Helicoil it only if the drill does not drill it correctly and get a reverse drill bit it should help unscrew it as you're drilling into it some lubrication like spray WD-40 exedra and maybe heat the area up to relax things with a torch if you can without burning electrical harnesses or anything important hope this helps

Any tips on getting the other exhaust manifold bolts out of the head without snapping them?

Hey Chris how did you notice it was a broken bolt? Was it a loud whistling type noise? I have the same one and the whistling type noise seems to be coming from the same spot.

We do these a lot,. have had three 6.4s in the last 2 weeks come in with this problem. You should have had to do that with the dipstick tub, we work around then with no problems. you have to drill out what is left of the broken bolts with a small bit. back sure it is centered so that you can use an EZ-out. if that doesn't work than you will have to heelie-coil it. there is no easy way. It is a 16 hour job, just be glad you didn't have to do both sides.
