Simple to do once you know. BTW, My valve was all clogged, so I watched videos of people, including mechanics, sticking stuff in there to clean it out, but I took off the whole manifold, and now I know that if you clean the EGR valve chamber while it's on the car, the manifold design means all the gunk will drop into the heart of the engine - straight into cylinder 1 and 2 (mainly 2) - horrible thick black gloopy stuff that goes hard will get stuck in the cylinder head inlet port or slip into the combustion chamber through open valves. I'm not a mechanic, but you should really not do that as it could clog your sensitive (and expensive) injectors and overwhelm valves and corrupt air flow, etc. You should get the whole manifold off and clean it properly before pushing anything into the valve chamber. It's a bit more work but cheaper and better for the engine in the long run. If I can do it, you can. Be prepared to leave it soak in a good strong thinner, scrub with a long small hard brush (Like a toothbrush, but bigger) and burn the rest out.

Great comment, it also improves performance when the intake is clean!! Fair play to you for going the extra mile. This customer wanted the cheapest possible repair so i just made it drivable for them
