Good old tractor! It put a smile on my face when I saw the clutch on the right hand side. I nearly went through the back of the shed the first time Dad let me drive his in the 60's, learn quick or get in to trouble he said. Good days they were.

Many E27N 'High Majors' in the UK were converted to a Perkins P6 Diesel because the petrol engines were such a pain to start and keep going in our climate. This one runs like a Swiss watch in comparison. Lovely old thing..

It does run very well. All we had to do to it when we got it was clean out the carby and make a new gasket.

Also you can hear in the video that it has a hole in the exhaust manifold. We replaced that and now it sounds significantly better

Is it out of gear. Would of moved if it was, plus I'm sure you would of checked before even thinking of turning the crank.

This is a power kero tractor. If they are set up right they all start quite easy. Impulse in the magneto makes a big difference.

@@vintagetractorsaustralia A lot of hard to start problems was from not purging kerosene out the of the float chamber first.

I’ve heard them called a number of things. Particularly in England. The real name is Fordson Major, commonly called an E27N these days just to differentiate them from the later Majors.
