Actually there's Germs ENG patch. It came out just in January. The author says it has some mistakes and e.t.c. and will fix them but the fact remains the same - the game IS translated at some degree. Apparently a Spanish patch has also been out since 2021, lol.

man could you imagine playing such a game back then? seems very advanced compared to what we had at the time, but im sure it was because of the lack of polish. but hey thats what the imagination is for right?

@@TheInfectiousCadaver can't say it was THAT innovative. It does seem like something really artistic but there are lots of games like this one, they just either didn't leave Japan or were PC exclusive. There are Laika, Ecstatica at some degree, Baroque is rather psychedelic, Ronde of MegaTen franchise. They're just so "art house" that most of them were either skipped by most people and it became forgotten or the developers just didn't bother with localisation.

Great list! You failed to mention the time limit in "D"; from the time you start you have just 2 hours to complete the game. No pauses, no saves, just pure building tension.

Eno doesn't get enough credit because he died way too early. The old website 1up use to have a fantastic interview with him that was something like 15k words or something. He went into so much detail behind every game he had made with Warp as well as Fumito Ueda (from Team Ico) starting out as a animator at Warp and how he saw real potential in him even there at Warp.

Nightmare Creatures deserved better. Shame we didn't get that 3rd game. Heck, you'd think they'd reboot it given how successful Bloodborne was.

I remember OddHeader made a video about obscure games, in the video he mentioned Germs and, apparently, it was released unfinished and unpolished due to financial issues, and for some reason the front cover of the game contained a photo of a real dead body, and physical game copies are really really rare because only 100-150 copies were actually printed and put for sale, it’s considered the rarest game ever for ps1, even more rare than Lsd emulator. Edit: yes i copy-pasted the same comment from the original video here lol

When I was a child maybe 8 or 9 years old I remember my dad took me over to a friend of his house. My dad's friend had a teenage son who was playing this game. I remember sitting down watching him play the game and being both scared and excited. I've always thought of that game from time to time and never knew what it was called. I typed in PS1 horror games to see if I could find it, and it led me to this video. That game was Nightmare Creatures. Thanks for giving me a chance to relive those memories.

Not only that, he can't even pronounce the names either. He pronounced "Iru" (いる) totally wrong, with the "i" pronounced like "ire" instead of "id". I just can't take this video seriously given something as basic as how something is pronounced is totally butchered. It's like someone making a video of Scottish history but pronouncing MacLeod as "Mac Lee Odd" instead of the proper "Mc Cloud". Ridiculous.
