Yep, people only complain that it is staged. Yet they don't know what it takes to perform what they do. It's still dangerous as hell. They are like actors that are doing their stunts on their own. But a different multiple minutes or hours of continues stunts, multiple times a week, always a different set... They have to memorize all the moves and be in the best physical form a human being can be at the same time. It's insane!

This channel has turned into a better, modern version of that old masked wrestler series back in the day. Giving new insights which are fun to see from someone who has watched wrestling for about 4 decades. Future secrets? Maybe similar to the chair on the floor breakdown how some moves are done as safely as possible while looking absolutely devastating to the crowd. Thinking things like V triggers, Toni Storms cheek attack, things where it looks like the persons head is being crushed and they should be concussed but are seemingly fine.

Missing the stunt granny
@cjhenline
9 ай бұрын
As for "hip attacks," I actually just saw how they are done, on Dynamite this past Wednesday. When Toni runs into Skye on the outside, she crashes into the guard rail with her shoulders and there's an obvious reaction from her in that moment. Thought maybe this was just because it was an outside spot, but later in the match when she does it back in the ring, she has the exact same form to it. So they're essentially throwing their shoulders into the top turnbuckle, and butt and hips into the middle, then the person taking the move just has to sell properly, so they don't actually take that impact.

Yeah. The world is Evolving however. I can tell you from just experiencing 90s wrestling that us fans gave a crap about nothing except who Austin was gonna Stun, Vince was gonna Fire, Mick foley Shoving Socko down people’s throats, and if anyone smelled what the Rock was cooking. But today’s fans are die hard fans and are also much more brighter and care about the ins and outs of the business. We all knew Kane was a really good guy behind the mask Y’know. @@visually_astounding6891So really quick the Curtain Call happened back in 96. Nash and Hall were WCW bound and the worked one last match with Hunter and Shawn. After the match the did what is known as breaking kayfabe. I.e. They dropped their ring personas and hugged each other in front of the audience. Back then this was a big no no. Shawn pretty much got away scott free as he was a one of the biggest names in the company at the time but Hunter paid the price. Kayfabe is pretty much dead nowadays thanks to the internet people know most of the secrets and the know it's a work. But there are still some guys that take kayfabe seriously. Though most debates now are about whether spots (be they in the ring or on the mic) are a work (part of the show) or a shoot (short for shooting from the hip) An example of a shoot is CM Puck's pipe bomb promo that happened in 2011.

Personally, I do not mind Maven opening the curtain to how WWE use to and still operates behind the scenes or in the ring. Behind the Scenes is a picture of how the stories are made, expanded upon, and flow together. Yet, during the matches, back stage interviews, choreography, etc it’s all the WWE’s world of wrestling. Hence the chants “you f**ked up!” when a bad promo or a botch happens

I’m not a wrestling fan, but these videos you do have started to spark my interest. I’ve gotta watch some matches now!

As someone who hasn’t watched wrestling since I was a kid and thought it was real, this is awesome. Surprised that the popcorn machine glass was even questioned though, sugar glass has been used in films forever. The blood though I never knew and didn’t realise it was real blood

One of the reasons for always working the left side is because most people are right handed. So back in the day people could reliably still work a day job in case they got injured in a match.

The commentary was great. It definitely gives fans a a different outlook on how things are really done. It ain't no secret that wrestling is staged and choreographed, so why tell how it's really done. Wrestling fans already know how it's done. Maven only confirms it.

Here another thing about chairs: wrestlers often use the side where your butt actually sits on. The other side of that is MUCH harder and reserved for "receipt" shots. Watch the JBL/Meanie match and noticedl Stevie Richards used that side and the shot sounds like a gun went off.

Its honestly astounding how multitalented people have to be in order to pull off a wwe career. You have to be an acrobatic athlete, a stuntman, an actor, an improviser, a workhorse and able to take a beating. People who say "its fake" just because its scripted doesnt make it less impressive. If you know you will be chokeslammed into a bunch of nails, doesnt make it any less painful 😂

When it's slowed down so you can see how it's done, that chair in the throat slam looks kinda silly, like when a soccer player takes an obviously fake dive trying to get the other guy carded. Looks super brutal at full speed though. Great stuff!

Not all promotions can afford to use that sugar glass. Indie death match promotions use real tempered pieces of glass. The key is when glass is tempered it is hardened by heat, but this makes the glass shatter into small pieces, rather than using untempered glass and having a wrestler impaled on a giant glass shard, which would be no good lol.
