To all my subscribers, I wish you a happy new year! May blessings abound for everyone who watches 😚
To celebrate the Korean Lunar New Year, I tried making fortune cookies. When you break the cookie, you'll find a message of good fortune, making it a fun treat! Isn't it amazing that you can make these at home? But I must admit, it's a bit tricky to make. Shaping them can be challenging... If they're fully cooked, they may break when shaping, but if they're undercooked, they'll have a bread-like texture... Also, you have to bake only one pan (enough for 4 cookies) at a time, then reshape the next batch for baking. That's the trick to getting them baked well! Otherwise, you'll see what happens in the video 🥺
But after some effort, I ended up with these adorable fortune cookies 🥠! They taste like sweet nostalgic cookies in Korea. Since they have powdered sugar, they have that perfect level of sweetness, you know?
I used an oven, but you can also use a pan, I've heard, so give it a try!
Wishing everyone a year filled with luck and prosperity in the year 2024, from Ryeoni Baking 🙇🏻♀️
