edited down from another vid. I got to see Foster in the Philipenes while I was in the navy, he did a great USO show, it was 1982 I think. Will miss this guy.
I just love how, when he's introduced and stands up, Foster Brooks just slips into the character like a comfortable set of clothes. So seamless and full of art.

You know, Foster Brooks appears to have only one act and you would think that audiences would get tired of it. But Foster Brooks brings a freshness to each performance that you realise that the act is the continuation of many segments of that act which he has honed to perfection. A genuine, lovable, funny man. Thank you Foster, for the laughs.

Foster Brooks was a comedy genius.. He played his role to perfection. So good in fact that you could truly question if he was truly tipsy. His performance was that good. He was the major reason why I even watched these Roasts. He could get every star & comedian and entire audience laughing so hard that they were literally crying as well. He was the best .. this was a great era to grow up in .. the greatest I believe. I'm so glad I can watch these whenever I want because they were some of my favorite scenes on these Roasts. Foster was definitely my #1 favorite comedian to watch. I sure miss those days of entertainment... ❣️😥

The funny men that appeared on these roasts are gone; not to be replaced by any one today. Most of them came from poor backgrounds. All were products of the Great Depression. All of them paid their dues. I will never see their likes again in my lifetime. Rest in Peace comics and comedians, thank you for making us laugh. Blessed be your names.

We got a feller here at the trailer park just like this Foster. Our guy's name is Preacher. Well, that's whut we all call him. I don't think nobody here really knows his real name. Preacher is about 65, always wears a suit and tie. And always has a fifth of Old Crow in his jacket pocket. Real smart feller, but never not drunk. He can tell some amusing tales. He talked fer 2 hours one time about how far spiders can shoot webs out of their asses. He pointed out two trees, about 15 yards apart, with a spider web spun atween 'em. How ye reckon they kin do that, Preacher says. It is a puzzle.
