for everyone with a single 16:9 monitor and a big distance to the monitor: the calculated FOV might be correct from geometry point of view but such small FOVs can be very uncomfortable with non-widescreen aspect ratio. I have 27", 16:9 with 1m distance and can assure that the suggested 19° FOV is crap. the calculator gives the lower limit, not the best setting.

This is prob the best ACC channel there is so I’m reluctant to comment. But correct FOV is one of the big myths on ACC . It makes it much much much less enjoyable and harder. The website mentioned gives me 35 fov with a 38” monitor. It’s like a magnifying glass attached to my windshield. I keep testing and I am of the conclusion setting correct FOV is simply not a good idea. It’s unplayable. Find a happy balance. You need to see what’s around you and gauge speed. The calculated fov was so narrow that i couldnt see shit and 200 felt like 5. And you ofc miss ever braking point, every apex, etc... My method is easier and works great: 1)Put your camera where the eyes of the driver are using distance and height modifier. 2) Put your monitor as close as your steering wheel it can be. 3) Set up fov to make the steering measure 30cm in your screen (for gt3 cars that's the standard). Adjust pitch at your liking. Done.

@@s3nTer It's much more easy to do than to explain. The things I'm looking when I do my FOV are: -You want to place the screen somewhat close to where the virtual steering wheel is. You want to feel like your real steering wheel attaches to the virtual steering column of the car. -You want your steering wheel to be the same size as the steering wheel in the game and then turn off the in game steering wheel (if possible). This is the most natural way of setting up things to me because what I have in my hands has the same scale as the things I see in screen.

Hello Overtake, I just found out, that the FOV calculators are ALL WRONG!!! You do not need a calculator. Just sit down in your rig, set the in game seat on zero vertical and horizontal... and now let the magic happen... Grap the wheel... look to the horizon... adjust ONLY the fov to the point of immersion when it looks like your own hand on the ingame wheel in your peripherial view... BAM!!! Start the engine and FEEL THE MAGIC!!! NOTE: My FOV calculator said a FOV would be correct... 50 inch 21:9 screen and eyes 82 cm away in AMS2 71 degree... and from car to car I had to adjust the seat... This works, but try the other way... THE IMMSERION STARTS HERE!!! Now my FOV is between 100 and 104... And it is far easier to hit the apexes.... Please let me know if you understood ... I am willing to explain... sorry, but the video is not correct the way it explains the fov change... and lead me to hundreds of hours driving with a complicated adjusting to the "correct fov" which lead to a less correct and immersive driving experience... The FOV and immersion are dependend on three points on a straight line... Your Eyes, your hands, the monitor... You can then adjust the seat... TRY IT!!! NOW: Take a car and let it put a smile on your face on the Kemmel Straight when you hit the 300 kmh :-) Let's call it FEEL OF VIEW! Even with my T150 I can feel the weight distribution of the cars and these moments you are almost flying... That's a GAME CHANGER! Looking forward on your feedback.

100% agree with you my friend. I race in real world on weekends and everything happens naturally, I struggled in sim racing judging everything wrong can't even have the confidence in close racing and consistency is out of the window, my eyes are all over the place looking at braking points then the speedo to see if i'm on the right speed or on the right gear for the turn incase a compensation is needed to make the turn then scanning the radar for traffic & looking for the apex, this is not driving its just bull**** I literally just hated it. What a waste of time, effort & money. One morning out of frustration i decided to slam the 55inch screen just at the end of the steering wheel, played around with the settings to get the car dash proportions as i felt correct in real life from cars that i really own, and my god its really scary amazing, mount panorama is a dream to drive, getting paper thin to the walls throttle control is precise trail braking oh its nothing once again, & the downhill portion is epic, you literally feel the weight transfer precisely, you just feel like you are one with car, let me add, now i even don't care what my speed is even not what gear I'm in, never look at the dash anymore, eyes on the track 99% of the time, and bumper to bumper door to door racing is just sublime you know precisely where to put the car, you feel them around you. I urge every one to just try it get the largest screen you can afford place it as close as possible to the steering wheel play around with settings where everything falls into proportions, in some cases your steering might cover the in-game dash don't worry about it, just go drive. Its absolutely mind blowing. A huge game changer.

Answer one question: which racer does not know how to feel the speed? Realistic FOV does not give an idea of how fast you eat. At a speed of 250 km / h, you should feel that you will soon take off, but at FOV = 45 you are just walking in the park with a stroller. Therefore, a priori, it is impossible to qualitatively slow down and smoothly enter the turn, maintaining the necessary speed, you simply do not feel the world control of speed, everything is equally slow for you.
